Hi Ndhaka, it isn't us - it's Mzansi Magic and MultiChoice- we're just reporting the news of what's happening on the channel. Don't shoot the messenger! Let's hope this isn't a new trend for all the other Mzansi Magic cancelled shows whereby they replace them with Showmax series. They'll run out of those too though so there must be a different plan. Hopefully.

Hi Ndhaka, we've got lift-off. We've asked Mzansi Magic why Empini's replacing Gqeberha instead of a new Mzansi Magic Original and this is their answer: "Empini S1 has been scheduled on Mzansi Magic for viewers that were not able to catch it on Showmax - essentially this is a content discovery show. Similar to Outlaws." We also asked if Empini's going to be replaced by a Mzansi Magic Original once it ends and they say they're hoping to give an update on what's airing next in January.
Ndhaka 04 Dec 2024 22:52
Surely they can bring Empini At Saturdays or Sundays night but not to replace an original drama soapie
TVSA Team 05 Dec 2024 11:48
True - it's concerning because they always replace a primetime weeknight timeslot with an original. This feels too similar to what happened with 1Magic earlier this year when the channel was suddenly full of Showmax series and we all know how that ended. #1Max Could be that they're waiting for the Canal+ deal to go through before they premiere new series or there aren't enough new completed series to replace all the cancelled shows once they end. The next one to end is Champions on 31 Jan so let's see what happens with that.
Ndhaka 05 Dec 2024 14:43
Loyiso Mcdonald must lead a new original drama telenovela taking Champions place starting from 3 February 2025 at 19:00
