According to the movie's producer Rian van Heerden (Laataand by Rian): “Bloedhond is a first for Afrikaans cinema. We’ve never seen such levels of depravity, insanity, and horror captured in a feature film told in our language. This is a horror film that will stay with you long after you’ve watched it.” That's some big talk to live up to. How depraved does it go? The synopsis and trailer: The movie follows a group of five students on their way to a music festival who take a wrong turn and find themselves trapped in the clutches of a depraved family. Isolated from the rest of the world for 27 years, this family has descended into a terrifying state of savagery, driven by hunger and a thirst for blood.
