RIP Franz Marx, creator of M-Net's iconic Egoli and SABC's Agter Elke Man, died on Sunday 26 September from Covid. Writer Leon Van Nierop shared the news on Facebook, saying Franz died at 09h45. He was 79.

RIP The Wire and Lovecraft County star Michael K. Williams has died at the age of 54. He was found at his Brooklyn home on Monday (6 September). The cause of his death hasn't been confirmed but according to New York Post, it's a suspected drug overdose. Michael was open about his addiction troubles over the course of his career.

RIP Shaleen Surtie-Richards' final scenes on Arendsvlei air from Thursday 26 September for a month. Her character Muriel Foster - Lionel's pushy mother - was last seen in 2019. She returns unexpectedly to get over-involved in her grandson Lee-Roy's wedding to Wesley. Shaleen finished filming her scenes the Friday before she died.

RIP Bongani Sibeko, creator of Family Secrets, passed away on Thursday 12 August. According to Times Live, he died at the Sandton Mediclinic after being admitted for a respiratory infection.

RIP Actress Tamara Jozi died on Friday 6 August, of natural causes. Her last role on TV was as Bongi's grandmother in the series premiere of M-Net's Reyka, which aired on 25 July, 2021. She was 64.
