Inimba roundtable special kills time before Season 2

The bad news: Season 2 of Inimba isn't following on immediately from Season 1 when it ends this Friday 13 February.

The good news: There is a premiere date for Season 2: Monday 2 March 2026.

We've been concerned it would go an extended hiatus for yearz considering what's happening with the futures of iThonga and Genesis a.k.a. NOTHING.

Still no word on what's happening next with each of them despite the fact that they're ending soon.

In contrast, MultiChoice has been more attentive to Inimba and has clarified what's happening, almost.

For two days.

There's a break of two weeks between the end of Season 1 and start of Season 2 and they're going to feature a roundtable special on Thursday 19 February and Friday 20 February at 21h00.

It's called Inimba: Inside the Magic and it's hosted by Anele Mdoda who's suddenly at the centre of the show's success, discussing various aspects of the series with these cast members:

- Lunathi Mampofu (Zoleka),
- Sisa Hewana (Hlathi),
- Zenande Mfenyana (Thumeka),
- Loyiso MacDonald (Lazarus),
- Siyabonga Shibe (Sydney) and,
- Ayakha Ntunja (Qhawe).

We would prefer it to be led by the show's head writer Siphosethu Tshapu or one of the directors as they would have offered unique insider insights in guiding the conversation.

Mzansi Magic describe Anele as a devoted fan so hopefully she'll do the show's fandom justice.

A quote from her:

Anele: “Inimba is part of our daily lives, we pick apart the drama, all because we want answers.

This is the first time that a platform is given for the fanbase to get answers directly from the cast… it’s like our own Inimba commission.”

Viewers can expect: “answers, accountability, a deeper understanding of each character’s point of view, loads of laughter, anger and some surprising takes on things we thought had been resolved kanti… it’s only starting and there is also a major announcement to look forward to."

As for what's happening on the other days: Monday 16 February to Wednesday 18 February, and Monday 23 to Friday 27 February.

Blank unfortunately. The only info in the release about other days: "The two-part roundtable will form part of a week long special that will shine the light on the creative world of Inimba."

Mzansi Magic tells us that announcements will be made soon and the DStv schedule says that they're airing repeats of Season 1, starting at Episode 1.

All this while SABC2's new Pimville airs new episodes in the same timeslot.

Inimba Season 2 should have run on immediately from Season 1!

Updated on Friday 13 February:

There are going to be three Director's Cut episodes from Monday 16 February to Wednesday 18 February.

You'll find details on these in the replies under the teasers here: Inimba Teasers - February 2026.

I can't wait to see this special. Anele is perfect to being a host, she truly does love the show. And the way she talks about the show, i thought she's part of the show somehow. It's quite refreshing to see celebrities act like regular fans of a TV show. As far as Genesis or iThonga are concerned, I don't think there's a need for them to be renewed. Actually, it will be a shame to the viewers if they do get renewed. They are not bad shows, but there's too much repetition of storylines.
