Viewers were subjected to loadshedding ranging from Stage 1 to Stage 6 this month, with a few moments of no loadshedding in between.
The Masked Singer SA flops on SABC1
It premiered on SABC1 on Saturday 3 June at 20h00 and as you can see, there's no sight of it in the channel's Top 20 when it should have rated as the Number 1 show for families on a Saturday night.
SABC1 has the largest reach in the country and yet this hasn't been enough for it to feature. Even The Estate Repeat topped it!
We've said it before and we'll say it again. The SABC should never have agreed to casting over-exposed Somizi on the show. It could have been such a fresh, unique addition to the pubcaster's line-up but now it just looks like they're foisting off DStv's sloppy seconds on SABC viewers.
Made worse by the fact that Mzansi Magic's putting in the boot by moving the final season of Idols to 18h00 on Saturdays. We presume the aim is to reduce The Masked Singer viewership on S3 too.
We don't believe they would have done this if Somizi hadn't been on Masked Singer. Let's not forget that he was DStv's brand ambassador.
The SABC has clearly failed to read the room. Why does he continuously get every gig in town?!
