BB Titans: Three housemates flee as single player weighted voting kicks in

Only two weeks to go for a shot at the $100,000 and yet Sunday's evicted Big Brother Titans housemates were a lot more buoyant than the misery-infused ones who remained.

Blue Aiva swooped out in a burst of smiles, showing off her underwear with pride, and Miracle OP declared "It's a miracle!" - not in so many words, but in spirit.

Nana didn't even hang around for the 2-hour countdown and goodbye session, choosing to exit immediately and then pretending it was because she was too cut up to say farewell to the housemates.

Even Ebuka and Lawrence commented on how happy they seemed, while those still in prison gave both of them the usual silent treatment when they "crossed over to the house".

By the end of the show the housemates were clearly feeling as if they were in a school assembly, being told off in that long, "headmaster" speech of Ebuka's.

Such a cheek! Especially when you consider that the housemates are glorified salespeople for the sponsors. Salespeople who aren't getting commission on each sale they make or every episode they appear in.

Whoever wins the $100,000 deserves it and will hopefully not share it with their showmance partner. *Side eye Mphowabadimo* .

We highly doubt Ipeleng would share hers if her expression was anything to go by. Emotional, yes, but also distanced. Removed. Ruthless even, maybe.

We were convinced the South African housemates would be the first to leave now that it's a single vote, especially because it seems there are many more Nigerian viewers if the adverts we see in the adbreaks are anything to go by.

That didn't happen though and there are three possible reasons for this:

1. Perhaps people aren't voting along country lines.

2. The weighted vote the show's introduced for the final three weeks of voting for individuals.

3. A combo of both.

Turns out the voting from now up until the finale is weighted. Here's an explanation from the Vote section on the official Big Brother website - Tip: Concentration required:

Weighted Vote Results Mechanic

This will run for the next 3 vote rounds and will be applied to determine the season winner.

Below is an outline of the mechanic and application:

The total votes per Housemate will be summarised in the following three country categories:

- Nigeria
- South Africa
- Rest of Africa (Excluding Nigeria and South Africa)

The viewers’ ranking of the Housemates in each country category will be determined based on the number of votes received by each housemate in each country category.

Points will then be allocated based on the ranking in each country category with the top-voted Housemate receiving points equal to the total number of Housemates in the round.

(Our e.g. If four housemates are nominated and Ipeleng gets the most votes in Nigeria, followed by Ebubu, followed by Khosi, followed by Blaqboi, their points would be:

Ipeleng: 4
Ebubu: 3
Khosi: 2
Blaqboi: 1)

- These would then be added to any points they receive from South Africa or Rest of Africa to get the combined points for each housemate.

- In the event of a tie in any catgeory, those Housemates will score the same number of points.

- Evictions will be determined based on the lowest combined points.

- If combined points are tied, the Housemate with the least votes received from the Rest of Africa (excluding Nigeria and South Africa) will be evicted.

- For the finale, the Housemate with the highest combined points as determined above will be the overall winner.

- If combined points are tied, the Housemate with the most votes from the Rest of Africa (excluding Nigeria and South Africa) will be the winner.

This has made us realise that we haven't been sure how voting has worked up until now and it isn't on the site anymore. We're investigating. If you know, hit us up and spill.

This is the breakdown of the bottom 4 from Sunday:
