Maddie Evans, played by Lea Vivier and her sister Chloe Evans, played by Mila Guy.
They debut this Monday (23 May) and they're not quite as close as they look. Maddie's the twisted one who twists her sister Chloe into her wicked ways.
This is who they are:
Madeleine "Maddie" Evans is in her late 20s/early 30s and she's the English-speaking "princess" daughter of a Marcus Jooste type.
He's a high-flying businessman whose wings melted when he was exposed for selling shares with a massively inflated value to other investors in an attempt to save his own company. He also faces charges of insider trading, and money laundering.
Maddie is used to getting what she wants - and when her wealth and access dries up, she hatches a plot to get it all back.
A plot to milk the Prices of millions, and catapult her back to the top of the social ladder.
This means throwing herself on the mercy of her doting godmother Angelique, and wrapping the rest of the Price family around her little finger, while she works out a scheme to siphon off their riches.
Maddie bursts into our world as a hedonistic trickster with a veneer of charm and personability. She’s cheeky, wild, given to doing without thinking - consequence is a word that isn't in her vocabulary.
She’s also manipulative, a shape-shifter capable of being whoever you need her to be, in order to get what she wants.
With her faithful sidekick and sister, Chloe, in tow, Maddie is ready to milk the Prices for all that they’re worth - a chip off her conman father’s block.
Chloe Evans is Maddie’s long-suffering younger sister. Though beautiful and accomplished in her own way, Chloe has lived her life in Maddie’s shadow, bossed around and berated by the big sister who always knew best.
Though Chloe is as privileged and pampered as her big sister, she lacks Maddie’s hard edges and take-no-prisoners attitude.
More ingénue than vamp, Chloe goes along to get along… because she, more than anyone, knows what Maddie is capable of if crossed.
Maddie has convinced Chloe that the only way they can be happy, is to reacquire the riches they’ve been so cruelly deprived of. By any means necessary.
And Chloe, used to bending to Maddie’s will, helps Maddie with her schemes. But Chloe is starting to doubt the wisdom of Maddie’s plan.
When the Prices take the sisters in, Chloe finds a warm, welcoming space - completely unlike her own family.
She quickly bonds with Gordon over the challenges of growing up in the shadow of over-powering siblings and develops a warm rapport with Angelique.
