Here's something groovy to spend your time on...

Look at your world.

Capture the moment.

Win because of it.

This is the essence of National Geographic's photography competition titled #ExploreWithNatGeo: Find the epic in every day.

It's happening as we speak and this is what you need to know if you want to enter:

National Geographic is inviting amateur photographers to showcase their unique stories and perspectives through their lens, enabling unique local stories and experiences to be depicted using the photographic medium.

The photograph

The competition is on a search for photographs by South Africans that capture unique and remarkable moments, experiences or aspects of everyday life around them.

Ultimately, it's about finding the epic in the mundane.

The competition

Each week 10 photos are being selected by the judging panel which, together with an additional 10 wildcard entries, will become the top 50 entrants once the competition closes.

The top 10 finalists will be selected from these 50, by a panel that includes award-winning photographer and National Geographic Explorer Gulshan Khan.

Closing date

Saturday 3 April 2021

The prizes

First prize: a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G smart phone, with accessories,
Second prize: a Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G
Third prize: a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G

The finalist photos and the winning three, will also be published in the Sunday Times Lifestyle section and online at TimesLIVE.
