We've investigated and Gen's publicist Nandipha Pantsi tells us that Ditebogo's character enters and exits the show as the story allows.
Mbali is a recurring role so she's on the show when the storylines need her.
She's been in the action most recently but if she isn't, it doesn't mean she's left the show. She could return when another storyline allows.
Her character highlights the difference between a recurring role and a series regular role.
A regular character appears on a show very regularly, in almost every episode, whereas a recurring role isn't as regular. It's more regular than a guest role though.
Recurring characters don't appear as often as regular characters but they can be the centre of a storyline.
