2019 Cricket World Cup: where to watch on TV

Cricket balls take centre stage this week with the start of the 2019 Cricket World Cup on Thursday (30 May).

SuperSport will air all of the 48 games live as per usual and the SABC will air some of the games live and others delayed. Or so they claim - there's no proof.

We've been trying to source their line-up but... surprise-surprise - it's less than 24-hours away and there's no schedule.

The scheduler obviously scheduled the opening game and then disappeared for a holiday in Bali because after that there's nothing.

The only confirmed information is that the opening game between South Africa and England will air live on SABC3 at 11h30 on Thursday.

It starts with a build-up at 11h00 and will be followed by a wrap-up at 19h15 before the start of Isidingo at 19h30.

There's also going to be a highlights show at 22h30, which might or might not air daily - your guess is as good as ours.

On the SuperSport front... coverage starts at 09h00 with an "Opening Party" special, followed by a build-up at 11h00 with the first game afterwards - all on SuperSport2.

Here's a listing of the live game times and who's playing who for the whole tournament i.e. the TV times for the live broadcasts on SuperSport: 2019 Cricket World Cup Fixtures

A heads-up that SuperSport's airing the South African games live on all of the bouquets on a special CWC channel SuperSport 13 (Channel 213).

This means that every DStv subscriber will be able to watch live instead of needing to rely on SABC3's delayed broadcast.

These are live fixtures of the games from today onwards (3 June 2019):

June 5: India v South Africa, Southampton
June 10: South Africa v West Indies, Southampton
June 15: Afghanistan v South Africa, Cardiff
June 19: New Zealand v South Africa, Birmingham
June 23: Pakistan v South Africa, London
June 28: South Africa v Sri Lanka, Chester-le-Street.
