The Bachelor SA: Viewers break-up with love loser Lee

Famous last words before they ditched their showmance.

Bleh! Talk about the ultimate in a Reality Low.

The last time we saw such a trainwreck was when Tokyo Sexwale chose two winners instead of one on SABC3's The Apprentice SA.

Except that was like award winning TV in contrast to South Africa's first Bachelor which ended on a brutally low note on Thursday night when Bachelor Lee Thompson and short-lived final rose winner Gina Myers declared that they ended their relationship before the show had time to air.

The icey wall between Lee and Gina at the Reunion Show.

This is what Lee has to say about it:

Lee: “After that final day, I was extremely confused mentally and emotionally. Back in the real world, our relationship got off to a rocky-start and I wasn’t fully there for Gina when she needed me. That’s the bottom line and that affected our relationship,”

Mmm.

This totally undermines the very concept of the show - that the Bachelor and the person he gives the rose to are at least going to try to make their relationship work but things ended so fast the rose didn't even have a chance to die.

Viewers have been left feeling understandably disappointed, angry and cheated... these reactions from Facebook and Twitter:

So why did things end with an Epic Fail?

Our theory: stunt casting.

So much attention has been placed on Lee's physical appearance and body that we have to assume it was the main reason he was cast. Other contenders who spend less time at gym might have been more of a keeper.

Also, we have to give a side-eye to the casting of Gina Myers who just "happens" to be the best friend of Reeva Steenkamp. Really?!

Do you agree this is the reason or was there another problem?
