Brümilda van Rensburg's no. 1 acting tip

Brümilda van Rensburg made her final appearance on Binnelanders just over two weeks ago after four seasons of playing Jana and now she's dedicating her time to her drama academy and agency Act.

She started it in 2000 as a platform to train aspiring actors and to help them get work in the industry.

So she's gotta know what she's talking about when it comes acting right?

I had a chinwag with her at the Binnelanders 3000th episode party where I asked her to share her no. 1 acting tip.

She shared two. One about acting and the other about succeeding in the entertainment industry.

This is what she has to say about both:

On the industry:

Brümilda: You must have a bread and butter income so you can make choices of the roles you want to play. I knew that if I got tired or bored, that I have my drama academy. You have to have a back-up. You can't sit and wait until work comes to you.

On acting:

Brümilda: Don't act. Be in the moment, be honest, be truthful, re-act, listen and be honest. Be within, to be. You don't act Antigone, you are her, you are it.

When you know what you're saying and you want to tell a story, you'll never forget your lines because there's an essence in delivering what you want to say.

Oh I adore this woman. One of the best in our country! I wonder where she's going from here.
