Confirmed! The Phillips family to exit Generations stage left

It's definitely true... TVSA can confirm that the Phillips family is out of Generations: The Legacy.

The family, headed-up by Terence Bridgett's Michael Phillips, were first introduced in December 2017 with Terence receiving a "Special Guest Appearance" in the credits.

He was later joined by Schelaine Bennett, Nicole Fortuin and Donovan Pietersen in the roles of his daughters and grandson and by early June 2018 they'll be gone.

We've been snooping to find out why and asked the soapie's publicist Gaaratwe Mokhethi:

TVSA: We’ve heard that some people on Twitter have said that the show should only have an all-black cast - is this why they're leaving? Is it because the writers feel that the family hasn't been the success they hoped it would be?

Gaaratwe: The Phillips family came to service a specific story arc; the writers never intended for the family to be principal cast members. They portrayed their individual roles exceptionally and it was an absolute pleasure having them on the set of Generations: The Legacy.

Gaaratwe likes to talk rubbish .there is no way u can bring in an entire family without a long term plan for them .Collin is a weak headwriter

@Max I was about to say. Ain't no way you're gonna build a whole set, introduce a whole fam and only plan to have them around for 5 months! LIES! I'm pissed.

I'll admit, this family annoyed me when they arrived but there's so much storylines they can explore now with their individual characters. Especially the daughters and grandson. Just when I had warmed up to them they leave!

I couldn't agree with you more @Scorpio11. Collin and his cohorts were out of their depth and they opted for an easy way out. There was so much to write on Zoe seeing that she is a journalist, even Pam. But as always, writers ran out of ideas. As for Gaaratwe, she's just being a typical spin doctor.

come on guys. you start buy firing all cast and we go on with the idea then u recook the whole show again we go along with it then u fire cast one by one we again do it even though we still want to see their character so now u give us an interesting family and we fall in love with them es micheal, pam and brandon then u want to cut them off. I thought u a going to give us a rainbow show but it seems like u want to give us black only show. come on #BRING_BACK_PHILIPS_FAMILY
