Die Boland Moorde 2

Die Boland Moorde returns for a second season of eight episodes, each of which is an hour and a half long and modeled on the traditional format of British whodunnits such as Lewis, Midsomer Murders and Vera.

Stian Bam and Brendon Daniels return as lieutenants Andre Fourie and Shane Williams, members of the Boland Investigation Unit. With their formidable team they solve mysterious murders in the Winelands using logic and expertise to uncover the killers.

The second season begins four years after the end of the first - and a lot has changed for the team. Japie (Marlo Minnaar), the IT specialist, is still part of the team, but the rest are all new faces.

The head of the team is now Colonel Khumalo (Mbulelo Grootboom) and Busi (Ebby Weyime) takes over as the forensic specialist. Shane and Andre also have a new office manager, Elise (Nicole Holm), who thinks he's too sensitive.

Finally, Dok Le Roux has retired and a new pathologist has joined the team. Doctor Rachelle de Jager (Tinarie van Wyk-Loots) is a fresh breeze blowing through the office, causing Andre's heart to beat warmly.

Oh, yes. And Shane is now a father and his son, Benji, takes a lot of his time.

In the new season, the team are confronted with a wide variety of issues. In the first episode they get plunged into the theatre world when the members of a company performing Macbeth start dying in mysterious ways. Is it the curse of the Scottish play, or something a little more sinister?

In the next episode the team get called to La'Viva farm, where four friends organise weddings and receptions. But this is anything other than a dream day when people start blacking out like flies. And it's not the bad food either.

In Episode 3, Shane and Andre get involved in the secret of a political family when a body is suddenly discovered a year later.

Then the season takes a bit of a detour when Elise "borrows" one of the investigators' case files to use for her detective novel. Through Elise's rich imagination we get taken away to a family in the Strand and their attemps to live a simple existence. In this episode, family ties are tested to the limit.

In Episode 5, the team find themselves in an almost unimaginable situation which becomes a race against time to track down the culprit with possibly fatal consequences. In the next episode, Shane Andre get drawn into a student world of Internet radio stations, art exhibitions and drugs.

In Episode 7, Andre and Shane are forced to confront their own mistakes head on when they get involved in the disappearance of an advocate. What they discover, however, is more horrible than they could ever imagine.

In the last episode, the team is on the trail of a serial killer and André must confront his greatest fears: women and candle-lit dinners.
