So what can you expect from the 1Magic channel when it replaces Vuzu Amp this Monday?

Here's a wrap of important things you need to know:

The channel's structure

The channel runs 24-hours a day and primetime is split into two: early primetime, between 18h00 and 21h00, and later primetime between 21h00 and 23h00.

The shows that air in early primetime will have repeats during the day and the later primetime shows repeat after primetime.

Omnibuses will air at the weekends.

What's happening on Day 1 (29 January 2018)

The 2018 Grammy Awards air live at 02h30.

There's an hour-long introduction to the channel at the crack of dawn, at 06h00.

This is what the schedule looks like from 16h00 onwards:

16h00: The Talk
17h00: Moesha
17h30: Moesha
18h00: Rickey Smiley for Real
19h00: Sun Met Special featuring coverage of the 2018 Sun Met races
20h00: New novela The River - you'll find teasers for it here: The River Teasers - January 2018
20h30: The Fixer
21h30: How To Get Away with Murder
22h30: Take Me Out
23h30: A repeat of The River

Don't miss...

A new series called Guerilla which premieres on Wednesday, 31 January at 21h30. It's a Sky Atlantic/Showtime joint production, created by John Ridley, the Oscar winning writer of 12 years a Slave.

This is what it's about:

Set against the evocative backdrop of 1970s London, Guerrilla follows two young activists involved in the capital’s Black Power movement, whose relationship falls under intense pressure when they clash with racist elements within the police.

It’s a fictional exploration of a thought-provoking moment in history, which asks what might have happened if Black Power groups in the UK  had turned to violence in their fight for equal rights.

Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire, Rise of Planet of the Apes) and Gambian-English actor Babou Ceesay star as the central couple Jas and Marcus.

Other flash facts

Real Housewives of New Jersey 8 resumes on Tuesday, 6 February at 18h00.

The new local series Unmarried premieres on Friday, 2 February at 19h30. For more about it, please see: Ashes star Nyaniso Dzedze to star in new drama series

The River omnibus airs on Saturdays from 15h00 and Sundays from 09h30.

You'll find other premieres and new seasons in the TVSA TV Highlights on the days of their premieres.

Why won't DStv let Moesha come to an end?! Is that why Brandy keeps coming to SA, the collect her syndication cheques in person?

Lol Onkez the residuals are good hey. They say that Brandy owns the rights and she makes around $1 million per year on Moesha and The Parkers reruns around the world. Moesha was a great show back in the day but we can't be expected to pay R789 for a 21-year-old show. 1Magic line up is a joke.
