Time, time, time. It's about time!

After 54 years of being a man, Time Lord Doctor Who will be a woman. Played by Broadchurch star Jodie Whittaker, the 13th person to play the role.

The BBC announced the news on Sunday (16 July) by airing a trailer for the new season after the Wimbledon men's single finals.
