Bio

Jodie Whittaker (born 1982) is an English actress best known for her role as Jessie in the feature film Venus, in 2006, and for her role as Beth Latimer in the crime drama Broadchurch. She is also known for her role as Izzy Huett in Tess of the D'Urbervilles, in 2008.

Yorkshire-born Jodie's film credits include Venus, in which she starred opposite Peter O'Toole; Good, with Viggo Mortensen; The Shooting of Thomas Hurndall; and St Trinian's.

Graduating from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2005, she has already enjoyed success on the stage and has appeared on the BBC on numerous occasions.

Her credits include This Life + 10, Dalziel and Pascoe and Doctors. Jodie made her BBC Radio debut in Stephen Poliakoff's Blinded by the Sun.

She has also had starring roles in television series such as Broadchurch and The Assets.
