Connie Ferguson to star in Ring of Lies replacement

Now we know why Connie was so busy that she had to leave Gen! She's playing the title role in "The Queen", which is Mzansi Magic's replacement for Ring of Lies when it wraps at the end of July.

We're not sure if she's an actual queen or a queen as in Kookie from Empire but she's definitely in charge. The series is produced by Igazi and Rockville producers Ferguson Films and also stars Senzo Ngqobo, Loyiso McDonald, Mbali Nkosi, SK Khoza, Sello Maake Ka-Ncube, Themba Nbada and Natasha Thahane.

Details about the show are sketchy but this is the official description:

The Queen is a fast-paced telenovela about a dedicated wife, mother and successful businesswoman Harriet Khoza (Connie) who is forced to do the unthinkable when her husband's secret comes to light. The Queen strips bare the insatiable lust for power amongst the rich and the victims that find themselves at their mercy.

We'd love to be able to tell you more but this is the only info available from Mzansi Magic. It premieres on Monday, 1 August at 21h00 and will air Mondays to Thursdays.

Knowing Phathu makwarela (the headwriter) her character will be similar to the Good wife,I can't wait to watch it .Natasha Thahane just revealed she is lead her role of Entle(skeem saam)because of this show .

Lol @Goku there's nothing we can do .mzansi magic love recycling actors .its all about the ratings for them I guess .Sello Maake ka Ncube as over Ferguson productions ,I hope he won't leave scandal .

The Queen: The Heart Of A Mother. The Mind Of A Mobster.

Harriet Khoza has lived her whole life as a spoiled trophy wife, but tragedy strikes her family and she is forced to take over a family empire and bring unity to a family at war with itself, while hiding a deadly secret that can tear the whole family apart.
