B.A.C.K: celebs return for Tropika Island of Treasure 7

It's been two years since it was on TV and three years since celebs competed on it and now it's making a comeback to its former format.

Tropika Island of Treasure will be back for a seventh season this year after recovering from the impact of Season 5 three years ago.

Flashback to the Season 5 premiere on Saturday 16 February 2013, two days after Reeva Steenkamp was murdered: Reeva was on Season 5 of the show and there was a furore about whether or not the series would - or should - go ahead and air after her death. It did.

Things went very quiet with it after the controversy and there was no sign of schlebs on the next season. Season 6 featured members of the public and came and went without anyone noticing.

The show disappeared completely for two years and didn't look as if it would be back. And now it is, with a new crowd of schlebs who'll be competing to take home the bacon, fruit juice, moolah, whatever they're going to win.

I'm sure they'll win cash again and a lot of it because it always is. Da L.E.S was the last famous face to win himself a cool million in Season 5.

The new season's set in the Seychelles and will be hosted by Minnie Dlamini with Top Billing presenter Jonathan Boynton-Lee as the games master who'll put them through the challenges.

A notable change is that it's going to be on SABC3 instead of e.tv or SABC1. As you'll see, the season should be called: Tropika Island of Treasure: Isidingo Edition.

The competitors are:

Zakeeya Patel

Isidingo's Samantha and winner of Strictly Come Dancing 6.

Maurice Paige

Isidingo's Calvin and dude with a tiny waist.

Jessica Nkosi

isiBaya's sweet Qondi.

Siv Ngesi

Pissed off comedian and actor.

Karlien van Jaarsveld

Bobby van Jaarsveld's pop singer sister and winner of Strictly Come Dancing 8.

EmTee

Rapper turned Muvhango actor who should be called Meteoric Rise.

Anga Makubalo

Hottie by day, Obakeng on Isidingo by night and NaakMusiQ by late night.

-----

Will keep you posted on other details, premiere date etc.

There is no variety here at all, they should give other celebs a chance there are so many people to choose from. Zakeeya, Siv and Karlien have recently participated in reality shows *yawns

Plus I dont see any of these celebs digging up dirty schemes. The season with Da Les, AKA, Phuthi, Pearl and Jay was LIT just a pity it was overshadowed by Reeva;s death.

Tjooo Anga has jobs for days including his music. I wonder how he will cope.
