7de Laan's Diaan Lawrenson is the latest soapie star to catch a case of soapie cabin fever. She's decided to call it semi-quitsville after playing Paula for 14 years.
Diaan has resigned as a starring cast member which means that Paula won't be a lead character anymore. She's going to be a call actor instead so Paula will pop in for specific story arcs in between but won't be in the centre of things anymore.
The reason for Diaan's decision is that she wants to spend more time with her children Olivia and Thomas. She also wants to complete her masters degree in television and theatre. She's been offered a lecturership at the AFDA campus in Cape Town where she'll be completing her masters while lecturing.
