M-Net CEO Yolisa Phahle, Deputy Minister in The Presidency Buti Manamela and Magic in Motion Academy Director Bobby Heaney with the Academy's 2015 graduates.

M-Net's Magic in Motion Academy has put out a call for applications for the Academy's 2016 internship programme.

The programme launched this year and gave 12 film and TV graduates the opportunity of being part of a year-long paid internship that provided them with hands-on training in the real world of TV and movie production.

The programme will be happening again next year but with an increase in numbers. 20 candidates will be given a spot in 2016.

The aim of the internship is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience so successful candidates spend the year participating in various professional film and TV productions. The programme focuses on production commissioning, concept creation, script writing, producing, directing, cinematography, sound, art direction, editing, post-production, studio and location shoots.

It also offers interns the opportunity of engaging closely with some of the country’s top producers and productions, while gaining an in-depth, wide-ranging experience of the industry.

Sound like the sort of year you'd like in 2016? If so, read on...
