Six celebs we'd like to see on E!'s first local series

Good news for those of you who are hooked on E! and lurve your local celebrities too... it's happening. Eventually. E! Entertainment's combining the two in the channel's first local series of E! News Specials.

As you probs know, E!'s specials focus on one particular celeb, their past, their present and their rise to fame through interviews and other footage. There are 12 South African specials in the series which starts on Thursday, 10 September at 20h00.

Six specials have been confirmed so far and star: Bonang, Terry Pheto, Shashi Naidoo, AKA, Prime Circle and... wait for it... Danny K. I don't have a clue why he's been included - he's always been so very overrated.

Anyhoo, there you have it. Those are them. And six spots remain. The channel's still negotiating with the others who'll include sports personalities too apparently. Who should they be? Who would suit the E! vibe best?

These are my six choices:

Fana Mokoena: because he's such a hermit it would be good fun seeing him trying to cope with all the attention.
Connie Ferguson: she's an institution - the sort of schleb E! is renowned for spotlighting.
Herschelle Gibbs: give the man another bong and he'd be purrfect. Of course he'd need to elaborate on the dirt he spilt in his book.
Zarara: I want to know what we don't know about her and I'm convinced there's a lot.
Boozy Marah Louw: she's gone from Sasko Louw to being fired from Idols to starring in Tempy Pushas with a whoooooole lotta other cray in between.
Itumeleng Khune: he has the ideal cocktail of sporting prowess mixed with high profile, tabloidy celebrity dating.
