Press Release

TREVOR NOAH JOINS COMEDY CENTRAL’S “THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART”
AS PART OF  “THE BEST F*&#ING NEWS TEAM EVER!”

SA comedian Trevor Noah is to join Jon Stewart and “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” as part of the cast for Comedy Central’s Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning satirical news show, “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”.  Noah will join the cast from December 2014.

Noah will join the talented contributor roster of “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” which includes Samantha Bee, Jordan Klepper, Jason Jones, Jessica Williams, Lewis Black, John Hodgman, Al Madrigal, Aasif Mandvi, Kristen Schaal and Larry Wilmore.

Tweeting to his fans, Trevor Noah said, “Thank you so much for all your love and support.  Being part of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is such an honour. I can’t wait to start.”

No stranger to TV, Noah has hosted numerous television shows in his career, including the “Comedy Central Roast of Kenny Kunene”, two seasons of his own late night talk show, “Tonight with Trevor Noah”, the SAFTAs, the SAMAs and the South African Comedy Festival.

Noah’s U.S. television debut came when he appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and he has since appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman”, becoming the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on either late night show. His Showtime comedy special, “Trevor Noah: African American” premiered in 2013.

Noah presented his one man show “The Racist” at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe in a sold-out run that became the buzz of audiences and journalists.  The same year was the subject of David Paul Meyer’s award-winning documentary film “You Laugh But It’s True” which tells the story of Noah’s remarkable career.

Noah continues to tour all over the world and has performed in front of sold out crowds at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Noah has been profiled in Rolling Stone, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal, and by CNN and NPR’s “Talk of the Nation,” among others. In 2014, Noah was also nominated for “Personality of the Year” at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards and is currently featured on the cover of GQ South Africa.

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” airs on Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) from Tuesday to Friday at 23:50 CAT, and repeats the following day at 01:55 CAT

Hi TVSA. Thank you for being the only TV website that has actually included the info that you can watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central on dstv in Africa. every other website like Tonight and channel24 has failed to mention this. It's obvious that they just don't know about the show and just report what they read elsewhere. TVSA clearly actually know the TV biz and aren't pretenders like those other sites.
