I don't normally do functions in the morning, particularly during the week, unless there's a very good reason.
So, as soon as the invite to have breakfast with David Tlale and Clinique hit my inbox, I just knew I just had to clear my schedule to honour the date.
The breakfast went down at Baglios in Sandton, Mandela Square and it was all about the collaboration between David Tlale and Clinique. So, ladies and those gentlemen who are into cosmetics, when you spend R850 or more on Clinique treatment products, you could go home with a David Tlale For Clinique designer bag.
Immediately after the breakfast we made our way to the David Tlale for Clinique stall which was erected just outside Edgars. We were also interviewed by the Clinique TV crew to give our opinion of the collaboration.
There were lucky people who made their Clinique purchase at the Edgars in Sandton City, on Tuesday between 12:30 and 14:00, they had their bags autographed by David Tlale himself.
Well, allow me to brag. Lucky me happened to get the autographed designer bag and Clinique gift bag for... free. Hehehe...
It's great to note that David is breaking new grounds in Mzansi with just 5 years in the fashion industry. He went from being a clothing designer, to designing shoes in collaboration with Luella and now he's collaborating with Clinique.
A big thank you to Natasha Bennette, Clinique's Communications Manager and the rest of the Clinique team.
Next year, around the same time, Clinique will collaborate with another local brand. We'll have to wait for next year to find out...
Let's hope it's not anyone who's got R10 million to blow... Pleeease!
