Goldie Harvey came to many South Africans’ attention in last year’s Big Brother Africa Star Game. She was the timid housemate who fell in love and pursued and on-and-off relationship with the loathed Kenyan housemate Prezzo.
I haven’t heard her music but apparently she held a star of her own in the Nigerian music circuits and has over the years become one of the most loved Superstar who was often dubbed Lady Gaga through her frivolous and artistic outfits.
Goldie apparently came back from Los Angeles USA where she was attending the Grammys. She fell sick and was rushed to a hospital where she died. Nobody knows the sickness she had. The only message that was provided to the public via Goldie’s Twitter Handle and facebook Fan Page by her management last night was: “It is with heavy heart that i have to inform you all that goldie passed this night shortly after arriving Lagos‘”. here. As shocking as it is, when I first heard I thought she had died from depression or suicide related causes because of her public display of low self-esteem. Africa shall miss the young golden headed sweetheart who left way too soon.
