Out with Inkaba, In with Isibaya! Mzansi Magic fanatics are in for another daily Telenovela treat which come in as Isibaya taking to your screens on March 18th. Set in the dangerous and unscrupulous taxi industry between two potent rival families, Isibaya promises to bring nothing short of gun-shots, intrigue, suspense, bloodflow, catfights and drama galore.
Setup in a mansion of a late classy taxi mogul in Protea Glen, the minute you walk in the house you are in oblivion of your surroundings. Flawlessly hosted by Minnie Dlamini, the launch did nothing but water our palates. The 10 minute clip we had a chance to see delivered and created an intense expectation from everyone.
Like a Launch turned set-visit, we were taken in groups of 12 into the mansion to experience each character in their elements. First it was this pretty girl (above) who welcomed us at the door gave us a little background about her character,
Then led us through the sitting room where we found Siyabonga Twala who plays the man of the house Mpiyakhe.
With a big smile the maid waltzed in to serve us drinks in a tray, played by 4play’s Mbali Maphumulo.
We were then taken into the office where money and decisions are made and found powerful looking and no-nonsense-taking Thembi Nyandeni who also described her character took on the spotlight.
Then things got heavy as we went into Jabu’s room, played by Pallance Dladla’s room where he was sitting half-naked pumping up some iron, he took us through his character while women stared in a salivating awe!
We walked upstairs where we found two lovers making out, Sbu, played by Sdumo Mtshali
and young new beautiful actress Nomzamo Mbatha who plays Thandeka, also took us through their characters.
We made our way through the mansion to the bedroom where the Mpiyakhe’s 3rd classy wife Iris sleeps in, played by Mampho Brescia, more pictures were taken in that room actually.
Then we swiftly moved into a sitting room where former Yizo Yizo star was waiting for us. She plays maid who knows everything about the household.
Then later to the kitchen where Mpiyakhe’s two other wives were chopping veges while Iris sits upstairs looking beautiful.
We were then introduced to the neighbours where young Lerato was cooking for her dad
…and of-course the dodgy looking taxi drivers.
And big and funny girl Nomsa Buthelezi joined the dodgy-troupe in action to give us a little taste of what’s to come in her character.
Spotted also the beautiful Weza Solange at the launch and some few celebs I couldn’t snap.
