SA Fashion Week 2014 Exclusive!!!

SA Fashion Week 2014 kicked off with a star-studded Jameson Select Reserve official opening party held last night at Summer Place, Johannesburg.

We were entertained by DJ Speedsta and Mafikizolo. According to fashionistas the event delivered on the expectation of being the most sought after party on SA’s social calendar.

Okay, the theme was Red Carpet Glam - I had a huge issue rolling with this theme - For the obvious reason that this would mean dressing up, like it's your night to win a Grammy or Oscar.... but the reality is that no one wins on this night and it's all about showing off.

In true SA Fashion Week style, 20 stars were teamed up with some of the country’s top designer labels to add glamour to the red carpet...

And my oh my, I was surprised... People actually stuck to the theme...

And I present to you, Mzansi's fashionistas...

Mafikizolo set the tone for this year's SA Fashion Week.... I fell in love with Nhlanhla's outfit. We seldom see her dressed "down" but this look absolutely works... luv it

Donald in Black and White. I digg the leather combination on the blazer...

Janine in a very "interesting" dress. I don't get it... I first thought "hot mess" but figured, it might be creativity on steroids.

Another black and white... I luv it. It's like a combination of elegance and cheeky

Whoever dresses Loyiso Gola is doing a great job... Those long suits are perfect fits all the way...

Nandi Mngoma is sooo freaking gorgeous... can't say the same for this dress... Nah. I don't like it on her...

This Ben 10 is so hot though.... Digging the fashionista in Rapheal

Nomuzi Mabena looking yummy in black... But this style of being almost naked is tired though....

I appreciate the different colour (away from black) Mara I don't know about this look hey Simba... Seems so Dallas, Santa Barbara, etc. Come back to 2014

Loved this dress. This angle makes it look so safe... but the front was showing serious cleavage, plus red makes ladies look oh so sexy....

Pearl Thusi looking the part. This dress looks so good on her... It's almost casual but the tail gave it the glam factor.

The ladies man, Zolisa looking dapper as always... until I noticed that the pants almost pulled a "Michael Jackson."

I decided to join the fashionistas in a group pic of what to expect at the SA Fashion Week 2014.

What's your take on these designs?

Good one Pru'!!

That outfit of Janine's is a monstrosity. I don't know who she is ... help! What have I missed?!

I defs think Simba looks better in casual clothes ... he's made for a more rugged look for sure.

Interesting that Loyiso's designer managed to make him something that's long enough - he's so surprisingly tall when one encounters him in real life. The first time I met him I was like "Ummm ... oookay, so you're REALLY tall ... what's the weather like up there?" .

Nomuzi's oufit is my fave ... lurve that it's almost naked but not.

Babytee, point of correction that person is not Maps I thought so too at first glance.

Pru I think I agree with you on this "almost naked" trend it is soooooo tired and almost trashy now. Can these ladies put some clothes on I for one am tired of looking their expiring thighs. #imnohater#

So Donald is holding tightly onto Maps Maponyane's look?

Great pictures, beautiful clothes and beautiful people all round.

Lerato looks like Drum editor on that pic

Pearl looks more than amazing. She is nice. She looks better with the long hair. Not that afro
