A rad quote I discovered at the Mexican restaurant Zapata.
The year's in full swing, schools are back and reality show
auditions kick off soon. While we all consolidate our thoughts and compile our To Do lists for 2014, I thought it would be fun to share what we've been up to over the festive season.
Cruising Adderley Street in downtown Cape Town.
What did I get up to? I fixed my leg! (Almost - I'd say by 85%).
Last year I had a terrible battle with my leg ... I hurt it round about June and it refused to get better. I don't know exactly what caused it to collapse but the final diagnosis from the doctor and physiotherapist was that one of my muscles had literally atrophied from sitting so much to write. Crazy but true!
As a result I spent the festive season doing physio exercises, swimming and starting to walk properly again - by the end of the year I couldn't even walk a block!
Anyhoo, the therapy's definitely working because it feels SO much better you have no idea. I still have work to go
but it's definitely mending to the extent that I can now walk multiple blocks, YAY!
I also spent time with family - and friends who I haven't seen for ages. I watched TV (of course!) and fired up a new sewing machine. I fancy myself a contestant on
Project Runway, ha!
I got the sewing machine last year but didn't have time to investigate it so I explored it and created a first garment which I shall now share with you. You, who shall now be Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. This be it:
It's called #1.
I also worked on TVSA and liaised various exciting things for this year including the Big Brother Mzansi house visit. The show's starting on Mzansi Magic on Sunday, 2 February at 19h00 so media have been invited to go into the house to test run it on the Friday night before - as always happens. This year Big Brother uhdikt
Segololo will be moving in for us.
Oh! almost forgot ... I caught a movie that I'd highly recommend: The Men Who Stare at Goats. It stars George Clooney, Ewan McGregor and Jeff Bridges and it's a true story about an army unit tasked with used paranormal mind control as a weapon.
It's excellent, excellent - especially because of how trippy it is. Everything in the movie has two explanations: one logical, rational explanation and the other paranormal. Everything that happens has two reasons it happens which makes you wonder whether the action is paranormal or simply coincidence with a logical explanation. Check it out and you'll see what I mean.
Also trippy is what happened with the moon this year at New Year. I discovered something I didn't know. This is it, with a message for you ...
So that's what I got up to. Howz about you?
