Did you know that the M-Net Movies Premiere channel has a regular miniseries slot on Thursday nights at 20h30?
It's ridiculous because miniseries should be on one of the millions of Series channels but for some inexplicable reason they aren't. As a result they've been secretly airing so you may have missed them if you haven't known that they're happening.
We've been featuring them in the TVSA Premieres box since they started but I thought I'd tell you about them in case you didn't realise that they're series. Also, so that you can lookout for them when we highlight them next.
Series that have already aired include the historical drama
World Without End and it's sequel
The Pillars of the Earth. A mystery series called
Top of the Lake has just finished and it blew my hair back bigtime.
It's by Jane Campion - who made the movie The Piano - and stars Mad Men's Elizabeth Moss and Jane's Campion's favourite tragic shero Holly Hunter. It was made by the Sundance Channel so it's got an arsty, moody edge to it. If you see it pop up again I'd definitely recommend giving it a whirl.
The next series coming up is The Hollow Crown. It's a four-parter that covers one Shakespeare story each episode - each one covers a different madman i.e. Richard II and the Henry's. It was made last year and stars in it include Jeremy Irons (The Tudors), Ben Whishaw (The Hour) and James Purefoy (The Following, Rome).
It starts this Thursday (7 November) at 20h30 and airs in double bills for two weeks.

A re-run of Pillars of the Earth starts once it ends - on Thursday, 21 November, also at 20h30.
