So Khanyi Mbau's talk show Katch It With Khanyi premieres on eKasi+ this week as the new OpenView HD satellite platform goes live. The platform switches on today (15 October) and Khanyi's show premieres this Friday (18th) at 17h30.

My first reaction when I heard the time is that it's too early - it should have been at 19h30 - but I'm thinking it'll repeat at more primetime times. I've had my nose to the ground for schedules for the channel but they aren't available yet - will post them once they are.

In the meantime, here are five fun titbits on the show:

1) It's filmed at Nambitha Restaurant in Vilakazi Street in Soweto. Each week Khanyi interviews two personalities who might or might not be actors, singers and fashion designer types. She's also going to interview politician types and entertainment bloggers.

2) Some behind-the-scenes snaps:

3) Her guests in the first episodes include Mshoza, Kelly Khumalo, Donald, Lorcia Cooper, Somizi, theatre actor Athandwa Kani, Babalwa Mneno and Boom bomb Nonhle.

4) There are 26 episodes in the first season.

5) Here's a clip of Khanyi introducing the show - I recorded it from a handheld so it isn't the best quality but will give you a taste of the feel, theme song and attitude ...

Is it a daily or weekly show?

Hey Revorushin - it's a weekly. There's another show called Ekse, Let’s Talk! hosted by Masechaba Lekalake and that's on semi-daily. It's on Tuesdays to Thursdays at 18h00 - it's more of a social talker instead of schlebs - along the lines of The Talk.

Time change! A heads-up that the time's changed from 17h30 to 18h00 instead.
