Then the supersizers and the superskinnies are brought together by Dr Christian Jessen to swap diets for two days, learn from each other’s extreme eating and be placed on a 12-week healthy eating plan, with a final weigh-in at the end of each show.

Will Dr Christian and the team succeed where others have failed and change the eating habits of health and food addicts from different ends of the nutritional spectrum?

Two Greedy Italians PREMIERE – Season 1 – 4 Episodes

From: Tuesday 31 July at 20:00 on BBC Lifestyle (channel 180 on DStv)

Series continues every Tuesday at 20:00

Greedy Italians

Internationally renowned chefs and old friends, Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo return to the Italy they left more than 40 years ago to discover what has changed in Italian culture in that time and how that has affected the way Italians eat.

In the first of the season, the greedy cooks eat their way around Emilia Romagna, home of Parma ham and Parmesan cheese, to find out if food and family are still at the heart of Italian life.

During the rest of the series the duo visit the region of Campania, and discover how ‘poor-man’s food’ ended up making the region rich, and both return to their hometowns at opposite ends of the country to debate who’s local dishes are best.

Great Italian classics including Mamma Contaldo’s ricotta dumplings and slow-cooked family stew with polenta, alla napoletana, linguine with prawns and mussels, and a very local lemon and ricotta tart all feature in the series.
