*Phew* This season’s idols finally came to an end last night. Me and a friend were there to witness 21-year old Dave van Vuuren - a former call centre agent - being crowned the winner. I must admit that I never thought Mark would make it to the finals, after Lefa I thought Fred and Dave were going to be the final 2.
This time there were drinks before and after the show, so I had a glass of wine *wink* before the show began. We all watched the show so I wont go into a lot of details about. I liked the performances by Kurt, Lira, Liquideep, Parlotones, Elvis Blue and this year’s top 10. And the winner of the wooden mic! Well deserving. Well done to her. LOL
Fast Forward to the press conference ...
Dave and future wife
Dave said it had not sunk in yet, he felt like he is dreaming and that he plans to propose to his girlfriend next week once the excitement is gone. He describes his music and his girlfriend as the reason he lives and the worst part of the show was being away from his family, girlfriend and having to make decisions without them.
He also said that his most embarrassing moment was when he couldn’t sing some song to the best of his ability. When asked who his worst and favourite judge has been, he named himself as his worst judge and Randall, Unathi and Gareth as his best judges..
Mark on the other hand was grateful for the platform he has been given and how he never thought that he will make it to the finals. The worst part of the show for him were the results and his most embarrassing moment was with the elephants. I suppose it was because he fell. Heheh.
His best judge has been Unathi, because of the positive criticism that was always intended at building them. He wouldn’t say who his worst judge has been, but we all know who has always been on his case right? I thought he would come out and say it!
The album will be ready by the 15th November and they are not sure yet of when the next season of idols will begin.

Dene from the top 10. She told me she went back to school this term and can't wait to finish matric so that she pursues her music career. Loved this Truworths number!

Crushanda, from here onwards its music music and more music for her. To me she was the best vocally, and i would buy her album. This dress has made her look slim, i like!
Nolly Nols, busy with presenting jobs there and then and might be moving to Joburg next year.

Phaksy is a final year IT (networking) student - i would think he is doing music for the love of it. I hope we will be seeing more of him on our screens, because of the talent and he's such a cutey!

Now if recording companies are not trying to beat each other to signing him, then angazi shem! Like can we conclude that they dont know talent? He told me that he is busy with coorperate gigs now, and has a lot of shows lined up.

Freddie killed me when he asked if i wanted a hug or an autograph when i asked for this pic. He has also proven to be the crowd's favourite, and i believe he will be doing bigger things after this.

I wish all this season's top 10 idols the best in the music industry. There is enough space for all of them, and i hope no one will be exploiting them.
