Idols Top 8 Song Choices

Written by TVSA Team from the blog Idols 7 on 17 Aug 2011

This week the Idols Top 8 will be singing a selection of R&B songs, mentored by Loyiso Bala who'll be performing with them too.

There won't a guest judge. Why? Our guess - it's an aftershock response to Cofield Mundi who didn't give a stitch of contructive criticism, let alone a single facial expression.

This is what everyone will be singing:

Crushanda: I Learned From The Best by Whitney Houston

Dave: Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye

Dené: Voice Within by Christina Aguilera

Erin: Halo by Beyoncé

Freddie: Rehab by Amy Winehouse

Kelly: Rock With You by Michael Jackson

Mark: Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars

Lefa: Ordinary People by John Legend

Dave is so going to mess up that song, good choice...it might get him booted out.  Lefa...great choice, i have faith in you.  Not too sure about Mark's choice, if he does well...i'll be greatly amazed.

I missed Dave and Kelly's performances, Lefa blew me away...Crushanda was way too good.  I thought Irene was not bad either but the judges were too critical.  Oh Loyiso as a backing vocalist was something else.  He was too too good.  Please do not forget to vote for Lefa 05 to 37400.

I thought Lefa was struggling with that song! His voice sounded strained throughout....and Dave did well.

I don't know if Mark was that bad, or is it because I don't like that song?

The only judge that provides sane comments is Randall! I don't get some of Unathi's comments. She commented about singing from the outside to the inside and I was like what the heck is that??

@Vesa

you know thats the mistake made by these singing shows. they take singers and make them judges. you got to realise a singer is not necessarily a musician. they just got some God given talent that when they open their mouths nice melody comes out. players of instruments will do, coz they know how to read/listen to music. i can't sing to save myself but i can do a better job at judging than these singers who have released even selling albums.

So happy that Lefa was not only saved last night, but he was on TOP 3!!

Hmmmm judges decided to save Kelly, two contestants are going home next week.

Yep, i voted vigorously for him...he must just do us proud again this Sunday.  I am disappointed that they saved Kelly, i think that save should have been left for Lefa.  Randall has a soft spot for Kelly i tell you.  What is this week's theme??
