As spilt on TVSA, SABC1's reality show Dance Your Butt Off will be back for a second season on Tuesday, 14 June.

The search for 10 contestants begins this weekend, with auditions in Durban and Jozi only.

The ins and outs of the show

To fill you in in case you aren't familiar with the format: the series is a reality dance competition in which competitors are paired with a professional dancer in hope of impressing judges and viewers.

10 contestants live together in the Dance Your Butt Off house, and each week they are challenged with a new style of dance which they have to perform at the end of the week in front of a life studio audience.

During the week they rehearse with their dance partners, train in the gym with their fitness instructors and follow their individual diets created by the dietician.

During the studio performance the three judges give them a score out of 10 for their efforts, they're weighed to determine how much weight they have lost during the week. These two results are added together, making up their overall score. The contestant with the lowest score is eliminated.

The winner of the series wins a cash prize for every kilo they have lost as well as several other lifestyle prizes including clothing and gym memberships.

Audition details

Johannesburg
Date: Saturday 14 May 2011, from 09h00 to 16h00

Audition must-knows

When you arrive at the front of the line you'll have to fill in an audition entry form.

After the registration personnel have checked that all the requirements are met you'll move through to the audition area where a judge will have a brief interview with you.

After the interview you'll perform your dance, which will be recorded on camera.

Successful hopefuls will be contacted after the auditions for call-backs.

30 semi-finaists will get a callback. The call-backs will happen on Thursday, 19 May - these will involve another interview and dance.

15 semi-finalists will then be chosen who'll go for a doctor's check-up on Friday, 20 May.

The 10 healthiest finalists will be selected for the show from these 15 and will be informed on Tuesday, 24 May.
