Coming up on Carte Blanche this Sunday (13 Februrary, 2011):

State of the Nation

It’s a key event on the political calendar - the opening of Parliament and the President’s address. This year it’s of particular significance because of local government elections. Just how happy is the electorate with President Zuma and is the ANC delivering enough to thrash the opposition at the polls?

Carte Blanche examines the state of the nation through the eyes of ordinary South Africans.

Producer: Kim Cloete
Guest Presenter: Les Aupiais

No Point II

In March 2009 Carte Blanche brought you a story on the controversial Point Waterfront Development in Durban, which seemed likely to go ahead despite objections all round.

Two years later, the crusaders of Vetch’s Beach have uncovered documents that might halt the development and protect the area from environmental disaster. An update.

Producer: Nguni Productions

Princess Charlene

It seems it's going to be a year of royal weddings - two British royals will be tying the knot, as well as Prince Albert of Monaco, who will be marrying Bulawayo-born Benoni-bred Charlene Wittstock.

The former Olympic swimmer is visiting South Africa and will be swimming the Midmar Mile on Saturday. Carte Blanche caught up with her in Durban in the first one-on-one interview since she became involved with her Prince.

Producer: Diana Lucas
Presenter: Derek Watts
Journalist: Tshediso Sesioana

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
