A record breaking opening weekend has made Buzz and Woody the stars of the SA Box Office!
Only days after its’ official opening, Disney-Pixar’s TOY STORY 3 already been seen by a staggering 186 888 South Africans.
With the Gross Box Office after this opening weekend standing at just over R8-million (including pre-release 3D Sneak Peeks) this is firmly the biggest Box Office opening of any film in South Africa.....ever
Starring the voice talents of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and South Africa’s Jeremy Mansfield, TOY STORY 3 has been hailed by South African movie media as “pure perfection” (Daily News), “a work of genius”(Sunday Times) and an “instant classic” (The Citizen).
The story starts 15 years on from the 1st Toy Story as Andy prepares to depart for college, leaving Buzz, Woody and the rest of his loyal toys troubled about their uncertain future.
Directed by Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”), TOY STORY 3 is a comical new adventure in Disney Digital 3D™ that lands the toys in a room full of untamed tots who can’t wait to get their sticky little fingers on these “new” toys. It’s pandemonium as they try to stay together, ensuring “no toy gets left behind.”
