Monogamy

Today's 3Talk asks the question: is the institution of marriage setting up society for failure?

In the last couple of years the papers have been filled with news about celebrity marriages coming to an end because of one partner’s infidelity and divorce statistics are huge.

The show seeks to find out whether men and women see monogamy in the same way. It also looks at the pros and cons of being in a one man/one woman relationship. Ultimately, it asks: is monogamy a feasible reality?

It is not uncommon for two people who once loved each other to go to war, when their relationship sours. The situation becomes even more complicated when there are children involved.

Today's show looks at child custody battles and hears the lengths partners will go to punish their once better-half using their children. Discussion includes child maintenance law suits and visitation rights violations.

Experts will also be on hand to talk about the effects that such battles have on children and how harming them can be avoided.
