The LAB : season finale

I was hoping for alot of "kiss-kiss-bang-bang" instead I got more "eish-eish-boring-boring".Although I have throughly enjoyed this season of The Lab,which predominetly dealt withJaws's fall from grace.Which  I saw as a nice morality tale on the underbelly of the BEE world.Like many Bafana Bafana fans ,when your faith has been resurected and your are now hoping for so much more, the rug gets pulled underneath your feet and you hit the floor hard.So the same thing happened with this season last finale last night. When I was anticipating great drama and maybe some cool action, all I got where cliches and over played theatrics ,eish (number one)

All the ingredients for great drama where all there ; the son seeking revenge, the partner who wants Jaws to be caught instead of her, the family in peril and Fana Mokoena excellent portrayal of Jaws but something was missing. There was no tension,no build and the conflict resolution was so dumb, it felt like something from an american 80's show, like Mission impossible would do.Not a clever Mzansi show with its feet firmly on the ground, would ever do. The whole Jaws is wearing a bullet proof vest ,with blood squids was just ridiculous,it was just short of a man in a plastic facial musk to pop up. Virus turning down the cash was even more hilarious ( when did the hired hand turn out to be mr.goody tissue. Loving his boss and doing the mans dirty job for the greater good, the man is a thug!), the convinience of everyone being at the same place at the same time.Did not gel with the set up from the 1st episode, espicially when it comes to Mingus.

Anyhow we end up with Jaws turning into Jimmy Hill of Goodfellas going into witness protection instead of ending u dead on a stretcher like Carlito in Carlito's way.I bet the guys thought that would sell ,I just think it was C-H-E-E-S-Y.It was not true to the sensitivities of the story ,nor our South African context or even the realism of the show. So, should we expect a third season? I doubt it,unless its a whole new cast and a whole new set up is created.Or maybe we will have an action oriented season of Jaws running away from the "mob"whilst he is in witness protection, please guys this is a bad idea don't take it.Pretty please I repeat don't take this idea. Since now all , the principle cast of the lab have either been written out from Monty to Pearl and now Jaws, I don't see Mingus carrying an entire season on his own with some new faces. So i don't expect a third season, actually I don't want to see a third season

This season started off with alot of promise for me and it was building nicely but could not sustain the drama. Last night episode , Instead of it being carthatic it just felt over dramtised and cliched, which for me is a terrible thing to happen to any drama series.
