Bionic Woman
Premiere date: Wednesday, 3 December 2008 at 20h31
Number of episodes: 8

A remake of the 1980's show, Bionic Woman centres round a struggling bartender and surrogate mom, Jaime Sommers.

When a devastating car accident leaves her at death's door, Jaime's only hope for survival is a cutting-edge, top-secret technology that comes at a hefty price.

With a whole new existence and a debt to re-pay, Jaime must figure out how to use her extraordinary abilities for good - while weighing the personal sacrifices she will have to make.

Ultimately, it's Jaime's journey of self-discovery and inner strength that will help her embrace her new life as the Bionic Woman.

Other characters include Jonas Bledsoe, the man who employs Jaime's boyfriend; Ruth Truewell, Jonas' second-in-command; Will Anthros, Jaime's boyfriend, who performs the operation; Jae Kim, the specialised operations leader; Jaime’s younger sister, Becca; and Dr. Anthony Anthros, Will’s father and the man who originated the bionic technology.

Bionic Woman is produced by Universal Media Studios and executive-produced by David Eick (Battlestar Galactica) and Jason Smilovic (Lucky Number Slevin).

I gotta say I am stoked that Everwood is returning.

But Sundays at 5pm? That's all kinds of wrong.

It wasn't that long ago that the Bionic Woman aired on DSTV.  Don't SABC3 usually have to wait a lot longer before they're allowed to show something that's already been broadcast in South Africa?  Or maybe DSTV are letting them have it now because it was so crap.

But could the rebroadcast of Jericho mean that we'll get to see Season 2 in the new year?

The FP says Bionic Woman is taking over from Heroes 2 but according to this it has it coming on Wed, whereas Heroes airs on a Thurs?

Now that I think about it, maybe its better Everwood doesn’t return to its old Tues night timeslot as its best if they keep it for the Law & Orders.

But could the rebroadcast of Jericho mean that we'll get to see Season 2 in the new year?

Sounds promising but I'm not gonna build up my hopes only for the inevitable to happen...

Thanks for the headsup Alex! My mistake - all the dates and times are correct but its Rules of Engament that replaces Heroes and not Bionic Woman.

For some reason it all hung together when I did the blurb that Bionic Woman did, LOL. Gonna tweak now.

Haha - just realised Rules of Engament doesn't replace it either!

To clarify: there's no new show starting in place of Heroes - it ends on 18 December and the next week, 25 December there are two movies instead of a new show: A Christmas Carol (starring Patrick Swayze and Richard E. Grant) and another called Snow - also Christmassy.

Where's BONES? It is one of the few shows on SABC3's line up that hasn't been screened on MNET or DSTV before..it MUST come back now
