7th Heaven to me was like that artist you grew up listening to and all of a sudden started to release crap and you kept on buying their CDs out of loyalty not because the music is good. The entire Camden family has been destroyed and we are left with strangers living at the Camden household. This program should have never returned for season 11 it was not necessary and ended up become a nuisance on our screens. As a fan who has spending many hours on TV watching 7th Heaven and fighting with my guests to keep quite when its time for 7th Heaven, I feel sad and upset at the time. But i decide to leave sad and shack up with good memories.

The Observer shares the most memorable moments of 7th Heaven

  • In the opener, the very first episode of 7th Heaven, Eric enlists the help of a neighbor (Eileen Brennan) to stop 16-year-old Matt from smoking; and makes a vain attempt to help 12-year-old Lucy deal with her flowering womanhood.
  • Simon begs to have a dog, "Happy"
720
  • Matt shocks his family when he reveals his secret---that he is very close friends with a teenage pregnant girl, Renee. Matt tells them that he is not the father of her baby, but just trying to help her out.
  • Simon tries to find the exact location of heaven.
  • Reverend Morgan Hamilton's church was burned down by a racist group, they invite the Hamiltons to stay at their home.
  • Simon, Ruthie, and Happy get lost in town when pretending to be detectives and following their mailman all over town. Lucy was supposed to be babysitting them, but was instead entertaining herself and Ashley by talking on the phone with her boyfriend, Jimmy Moon.
79
  • Eric wants to hire an ex-convict to be the new organist as the church
  • Matt is uneasy when Annie's oldest friend Rachel, a boy-crazy divorcee makes a pass at him during a night out in the town with Mary.
  • Lucy takes Simon's advice and dyes her hair blond.
  • Eric and Annie wait for Mary to come out of surgery after her car accident. Matt gets into a fight with the guy who hit Mary’s car.
  • During Simon's first day at Junior High School, he is caught with a knife that his mother had given him to cut his chicken
  • Simon and Ruthie are reading Matt's love letters to Heather and get caught. Matt tricks them by addressing one of the letters to "Mrs. Matt Camden." By this, Eric accidentally finds the letter leading to think Matt and Heather got married over the summer, which worries himself, Annie and Heather's mom, Mrs. Cain
  • Simon and Ruthie are performing an experiment and are trying to convince Matt that Simon is shrinking
  • Lucy dons makeup and revealing wardrobe with her friends to meet guys at the mall and gets caught by Annie and Ruthie.
  • Annie is feeling a little depressed since she's 3 months pregnant. Ruthie is pretending to feel a little pregnant herself.
  • Simon is on a quest to change his image and does this by piercing his ear.
  • Still unemployed and bills mounting, Mary continues her downward spiral to rock bottom as Eric and Annie fight about how to effectively deal with her numerous lies and immature behavior. By this, it is prompting the children to break open the twins piggy banks to help Mary pay her bills. And the following family intervention after Eric and Anne find out.
  • Simon's paid dating service is becoming profitable until Cecilia (Ashlee Simpson) rats him out to Eric.
  • Eric and Rabbi Glass (guest-star Richard Lewis) pay a visit to the church to spy on the new associate pastor (Jeremy London).
  • Eric's strange post-surgery behavior leads him to make a life-altering decision that shocks and worries Annie. The reverend considers another calling when the ministry begins to lose its appeal. His plan to abandon his religious duties is hatched after a new neighbor mistakenly calls him "Mr. Camden."
  • Kevin goes all out to create the perfect romantic setting for Valentine's Day. Lucy doesn't want to attend because she had him agree not to propose on Valentine's Day. Eric and Annie convince Lucy to go. Kevin invites all the Camdens, his brother Ben and their mom (guest-star Bo Derek) to be there with him when he finally gets down on one knee to propose to Lucy
  • When a mysterious stranger, Martin (Tyler Hoechlin), wanders into the Camden home and spends the day with the family everyone assumes he is Simon's friend.
  • Matt returns home to tell Eric and Annie that Sarah has left him and he's dropping out of medical school. Rabbi Glass offers Matt marital advice.
  • Lucy is excited when Eric tells her she is now the Associate Pastor and will soon give her first sermon this coming Sunday
  • Simon's ex-girlfriend, Georgia (guest-star Rheagan Wallace) tells Simon she's supposedly pregnant and Simon doesn't know how to tell his parents---but Georgia is not being completely honest about the whole situation.
  • When Simon asks Matt to prescribe birth control pills for his current girlfriend, Matt is beyond upset that he is still having sex after what happened with his previous girlfriend Georgia. Meanwhile, Simon and Matt's secret talk starts false rumors through the house that Simon's current girlfriend is already pregnant.
  • An extremely nervous Simon comes home to Glenoak to await the results of his STD test from the clinic.
  • After discovering that Mary (Jessica Biel) has filed for divorce and signed away custody of her son, Matt is at a loss for how he should to break the awful news to Eric and Annie.
  • Lucy gives her first sermon at her dad's church, but her speech aggravates the congregation.
  • Ruthie is upset that she hasn't gotten any calls on her new cell phone, so Eric gives out her number.
  • Anne tells Eric that she hates Simon’s girlfriend whom he is engaged to.
710
  • The twins get each member of the family to share secrets with them over cookies and milk
Those where some of my most memorable moments of the show.

I remember the good old days, when we knew that every episode of 7th Heaven was packed with so much entertainment we could not wait for the next episode. The show offered humor, love, discipline and great family entertainment. I don’t think returning the show another season after the 10th season, which was announced as the final season of the show by the way, was a good idea. This blunder erased season 10’s fantastic end but in some serious form of greed, the executives over at the brand new CW network decided to bring the show back one more time.

What we are watching on our air right now must be called “The Kinkirk’s” a spin-off from 7th Heaven, because of the following reasons:
  • Lucy has taken over as minister
  • Kevin “Mr. Kinkirk” has taken over the part of Rev Camden, as a problem solver, great husband, caring and a disciplinarian.
  • More screen time is given to the Kinkirk’s and their relations with the Camden’s and dealing Camden problems vs their own.
I don’t think I would watch that spin-off though, because we love the show mainly and only because the Camden family. They were a mad house running on some Heavenly miracle and that offered us some entertainment because there was something for everyone. With this current broadcast of the show, the final season by the way, we are only left with the Rev and his wife, Lucy and the twins as the only Camden’s left. We can’t even count Lucy because she is supposed to be living in her own house with her new husband. The rest of the cast was filled out with Martin and Sandy, and three new teens that became part of the extended family. I think everyone can deduct that this was a desperate attempt to keep the show on air. One of those great idea which happen to turn out bad…. Like an atomic bomb. It’s a great idea but it kills people… so how great could it be?

I hated the moment when the new girl (pictured below) who is married to the a solder, now looking for a divorce, screamed to the other weird young boy about Rev Camden’s health “He is not going to be around for long” in a mall - of all the places.
77
(PS: I did not go out to take a picture of her like this. She is always like this when she talks)

They are becoming too boring and very annoying with line after line of never ending dialogue. I know that shows without action compensate by having dialogue as their priced position, but this program has truly become a bore, a colossal SWINE named BORING. “James, make sure you feed BORING today”.

I should admit that the person who takes the crown for the most boring of all cast members is by far is Lucy. She turned into the most annoying person on the show.
75
The entire season presented her as a shrilly, slightly crazed woman who seemed to be one step away from a nervous breakdown. Meanwhile, her husband Kevin seemed to be a bit whipped and just going along with the motions. This is the guy who was the most exciting addition to the show due largely to his characters take on everything, it was new, it was exciting and nice eye candy for the ladies.

Didn’t you just love loud mouth Ruthie saying all those nonsensical things at the airport without any regard of what the consequences might be! When the police officer arrives she becomes sarcastic “good to be back in America”. Someone must slap the stupid of her face.
78

As if that wasn't enough damage to the series, the creators of the show decided to mess with the fans a bit more by giving Eric Camden a fatal heart disease; one that was bound to kill him at the end of the season but wiser heads prevailed and they made Eric heal up real fast.

I think fans of the show will admit that season 10’s finale was quite cute, where Matt, Mary and Lucy were all expecting twins: For those who love this show, hunker down because you are up for some serious disappointment when the show ends a couple of weeks from now. Boring, the SWINE, has grown and it is not pretty.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH CONTAINS A BIO OF BORING - THE SWINE. IT IS A SPOILER
To summarize, Eric's parents (the Colonel and Ruth) present him with a huge RV as a gift for overcoming his sickness. In an impetus moment Eric and Annie decide to toss all of their responsibilities away and hit the road to see America. However, since no one seems to be able to live in Glen Oak without Eric around everyone decides to join him on his journey. The whole episode revolves around him and the others getting ready for the trip. That was basically the plot for the entire hour. There were some brief side stories, like Ruthie telling Martin that she's in love with T-Bone rather than him, and Lucy and Kevin wondering if Eric lied to them about his condition. Like I said BORING has been feed well.

The most disappointing is the last minutes of the finale - During the show a rule was passed out that one small suitcase and three personal possessions were allowed on their journey. The last part of the finale was Rev Camden inspecting all of the travelers and seeing what three items they brought along. I guess that’s what 7th Heaven’s producers think is good television? Like I mentioned earlier Boring is full and obviously could not even move. I expected the producers to put together an exciting tribute to the show and ending it with a BANG to end all BANGS!

74

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE LAST EPISODE
  • Eric mentions the RV is a gift from his parents.
  • It is mentioned by Eric that Simon is graduating college.
  • Ruthie finally picks the guy to be with for the rest of her life: T-Bone.
  • Apparently, at the end of her junior year of high school, Ruthie is eligible to graduate. This is due to the fact that her semester in Scotland was finished with enough credits to graduate. Strangely, she went from pre-kindergarten in Season 1, straight to first grade in Season 2, so Ruthie must be really smart.
  • Whether Ruthie chose T-Bone or not, isn't it odd that all these random people joined the Camdens' on their adventure and Martin did not. After all, he did live in their home at one time and his son is going.
  • When Eric was reading the map atlas he mentions it was from 1996 that was the year the show began.
  • The RV is called the 7th Heaven, which is named after the show.
  • Similar to last season finale's closing credits, the opening credits are changed. Pictures of Eric, Annie, Lucy and Ruthie are shown from seasons one, six and eleven, and Sam and David from seasons six, nine and eleven. Pictures of Kevin are shown from seasons seven, ten and eleven, Martin from seasons nine and eleven and Sandy from the past two seasons.
I agree whole heartedly with Paramount when they decided to discontinue the Spelling brand in honor of Aaron Spelling. A total of 13episodes are left before the big END!

I used Looooooooooooooooooove the show.....I looked forward to this show ever so often, never missed an episode in the firsty3-4 seasons. For a long while I was unable to watch it and at some point I realized it was still on i thought "Coolness......", only to find a show filled with strangers and confusing relationhsips.....
I was trying so hard to follow out of loyalty and the good old nice feeling fo entertainment, family, issues and relationships the show used to give me but in the end, i just gave up!
Very dissapointing indeed......

LOL....too bad seems it did not hav much of a following from no comments on the blog....
