Lerato and the rest of the Big Brother 2 housemates messed up my life last year in a big way and just from the first episode of BB3 I can see that my school and professional career are going to suffer again this year. Why am I telling you this? Continue reading…
I had a great weekend because I was at home the whole weekend, was too broke to put gas on my cheap car, Felipe Massa won for Scudaria Ferrari, Big Brother started, Sundowns will face Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN Knockout finals and most importantly its pay day today (for all those that owe me money).
Episode 4 started with the usual boring grouping of contestants into 6 groups. Each group had 3 members except for group 6 which had 4 members. I’m convinced that this was the last boring episode.
I think the make-up artist of the show needs to be fired – Bhut’ Lindelani’s make-up was way over the top, and those shiny lips were distracting me – did they use Lip gloss on you bhuti?
Group 1 aka Hlabelela
3.5/5. This group deserved more than 3.5, but the bitchy comments between Zim and Mvelo were really not good for the baby (Mzo) in the group. Mvelo was probably raising valid comments but seeing that they were directed to my fav Zim I will take Zim’s side. After all, Capetonians should stick together, its hard to be in Jozi. In spite of the fight btw Zim and Mvelo and being subjected to words like confidence, the group’s performance was awesome, and I’m convinced that Mzo has me on some Voodoo(
2 compliments in a row is so unlike me), I just hope it’s not from Polokwane. Zim must start listening and learning contemporary Gospel. Mvelo, must start controlling her breathing when singing.
Group 2 aka Aroma (did I hear right?)
(3/5). Austine, Berlinda and Marco(
whom i'm struggling to believe is 20yrs old) made up the group. Great performance. Big-ups to Marco for the Xhosa vocals.
Group 3 – Didn’t get their name. So we’ll call them capetonians for now.
4.5/5. I received an international call when this group started performing and had to pause the program (yes I have a PVR). The group was made up of Lusanda the DIVA, Shannon & Charisma. I couldn’t get what the fighting was about, but I was not shocked, seems Drama follows Lusanda wherever he goes. In spite of a pathetic start and Lusanda’s voice not being 100% in shape, the group gave the second best performance of the day. Kgotso was in tears as a result of the group’s performance (I’m beginning to think Kgotso has a Drama Certificate from one of those shady schools in Hillbrow or he was told he could act by the same person who lied to Kelly Khumalo and Lucia Mthiyane).
Group 4 – didn’t get their name, which was a good thing
2/5. These moegoes should have chosen a song that would have been ideal for Jody. But as a professional that he is (Jody), he did a great job. And shame he looked way better than ever before (the pills are really working). Please Jody forward the name of your Doctor to Zola and Channel O DJ Waxxy.
Group 5 aka Melody
5/5. I think this is my second perfect score. Beside Lungisani’s yesteryear jacket, the performance was really perfect. NTOKOZO is a true performer PERIOD. Lungisani gave a stalling performance accompanied by ZCC shoes and moves. LOVE your shoes bhuti. Where did you get them? Joubert Park or Marabastad? Thabisa reminds me of my fav gospel singer – Hlengiwe Mhlaba.
Group 6 aka Beloved
3.5/5. This was the only group with 4 members – Pertunia, Andiswa, Kgotso, & my new friend Tshepiso. Can someone please tell me if there’s a word called “harmonically” in an Oxford dictionary? I’m just asking, Kgotso if you read this blog, please help me out my brother – I really wanna know (you all know that I have Lower Grade English, akuna Mathatha, akuna Mathatha). Clearly I’m the only one who thinks there’s a difference between a performer and a singer otherwise Tshepiso wouldn’t still be in the competition. This group deserved a 4/5 but as a result of Pertunia I had to give them 3.5. Sisi you have a lovely voice, but I have 2 issues with you, 1 - JHB is really not Russia – those boots are unnecessary, 2 – your hairstyle – I hear Iko Mash is having a closing down sale at his/her saloon in Hillbrow.
Elimination
Immediately after the last group’s performance I decided to switch to channel 198(eish I’m a big brother addict). When I switched back to SABC 2 to watch the elimination process, the program was already over - I had forgotten I was watching a delayed version because of the international call I had to take earlier. Technology is difficult yazi. Anyway if there’s anyone out there who watched the program, please let us know how the elimination process went?
Eliminated this week was, Zim (as a result of not being a versatile singer), Andiswa, Jody (shame bhuti), Nthlahla (deserving) Victor (I hear DENIM is looking for a vocalist) and Mvelo (good riddance).
As mentioned last week, the next coming episodes are going to be interesting. The best vocalists are still in the competition.
Is it true that Lusanda didn’t make it to the top 10? Tune in on SABC 2 this coming Sunday to find out if some of our bloggers are really connected. Who are my fav’s to make it to the top 10? In no particular order, Mzo, Ntokozo, Shannon, Charisma, Berlinda, Pertunia
