I want to sing Gospel Top 13 were announced yesterday at Cabanga Conference Center in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. Those that made it to the top 13 are……..wait a minute, we’ll get there later.

I and my sidekick for the day (
Brown Suga aka Lelo– whom by the way looked hot) made our way to the Cabanga Conference Center for the announcement of the “I WANT TO SING GOSPEL Top 13 REVEAL. We were welcomed by funny looking characters wearing purple t-shirts who turned out to be the Top 13 (please forgive me for thinking you were about to give me a pamphlet like those people standing on traffic intersections disturbing drivers). They look so short and thin in real life (I mean the contestants).

Big thanks to SABC2, Eclipse, Total Exposure, Thokozani, Lindelani, and the rest of the crew for the invite and for reading tvsa.co.za. I was so humbled by the props given to tvsa.co.za and its readers and bloggers. Now how about those 10 tickets for the Joyous Celebration show this weekend? Oh by the way – Lelo is not the writer of this blog – talking about stealing my lime light!!!! LOL.
The event and speeches didn’t take long, Thabo was the MC and gave us the history of the show, a video of all the worst performances during auditions was showed. Do you still remember Jerry and Oba?
SABC2 representative, Thokozani, & Lindelani made short and nice speeches. Later the media was asked to pose questions to the producers and the contestants. BS asked about 25 questions; mind you all of us were hungry and couldn’t wait for the formalities to be done. BS what was for lunch? I was too busy talking to the contestants to notice there was lunch provided?

1 thing that pissed me off about the answers from the top 13 was this ideology of “I’m SAVED”, I’m BORN again” – almost all of them claim to be Saved/Born Again. I just hope they know how to define to be Saved or Born Again. Christianity is not about singing GOSPEL.
Anyway the A-h-a moment was to learn that Rebecca Molope’s gospel show is the 3rd highest ranking show on SABC2 (Damn no wonder I have more than 15 Rebecca Albums). The reason Rebecca’s show is famous is because of the “Demo Time” feature and that’s why the “I want to Sing Gospel” reality show was born.

The top 13 performed what I think was 3 songs combined into 1 long song.
Awesome Awesome staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mzoxolo bhuti you have an amazing voice (Apologies for writing you off last week). This boy is the next best gospel musician. Damn I was in tears (literally). Mzo was the first to do a solo and what a great performance – you just had to be there to appreciate this boy’s voice. Do me a favour though bhuti – please remain @ school – we don’t want an uneducated gospel star.
Lindelani made it clear that the contestants are not only judged based on what is shown to the viewers. I know most of you complained about the contestants not having a WOW factor. Say no more cause in the next few episodes you are about to see and hear amazing sounds, voices and performances from the Top 13.
Getting back to the Top 13 Did I mention that even the contestants do read this blog? Seeing that I’ve met and even told them my real name – I will refrain and will never say any nasty comments about them.

LungisaniMy first “victim” for the day was Lungisani (Was that beer in your hand bhuti?) eish I was wearing contacts and might have seen things that were not there. Shame ubhuti was shocked when I asked him about his age. I was just asking my friend – people want to know. I know BS will vote for you bhuti – but please lose the ZCC moves, they are so Polokwane. Eish his performance was ruined by the microphone.
BS & NtokozoNext was the next Rebecca Malope – Ntokozo, who told me that she’s on the verge of changing her name or second name (whatever - I wasn’t paying attention to her) – Did they force you to change your surname sisi? Anyway, she made it clear that her comments about not able to sing contemporary gospel songs were misunderstood, and was not ashamed to tell me that Gogo Rebecca Malope is her favourite singer (as if that’s news to me) – yo antics sisi are a sure sign that you took lessons from sis Ribs (Did I tell you that you can sing? If not, now you know).
Met the 2 DIVAS of the show Shannon and Lusanda – you 2 girls kill me yazi. These 2 are buddies and love the limelight (
did I hear someone saying Khanyi and Amstel?) – anyway you both can sing and you know it, loved your solos. Madam Lusanda also wants to do acting/journalism/etc etc etc. Shame bhuti don’t take note of any nasty things written about you in this blog(I know you read the blog). And he knows nothing about the alleged story that he was crying in front of his congregation about not making it to the top 10 – all I’ll tell you is to watch the show and see if the story was true or not.
BS & KgotsoBS is such an embarrassment yazi – I won’t take you anywhere again – these boys are babies (I had to stop her from going on and on about how cute some of the boys were). First it was that wanna-be Rap child from Jozi, now its the "poor" 22 year old former sex addict?– how was your lunch sisi – the one you had after the event?
Now that's a decent pictureKgotso Kgotso Kgotso – shame this boy is shorter than Lindelani, very confident and so sure of himself (in a good way according to his Nr 1 fan BS) – as I told him, he should stay away from making statements that will make people think he is arrogant – he needs people to vote for him if he makes it to the top 10. By the way you can sing bhuti. When i grow up i want to be like you - LOL.
Pertunia my sister – you really blew me away, you are so short, shy and invisible but your VOICE is AWESOME. Ziveze Sik’bone sisi – don’t be shy (after all you are form Soweto).

Top 10 will be revealed on the 31st of August and the winner will be announced on the 26 of OCTOBER
Compilation album of the Top 13 will be released soon (can I get a free copy please?)
Public will have an opportunity to vote for their favourites from episode 5 (I think) and more judges will be helping Lindelani but he will keep his powers of making the final decision.
New twists will be unveiled as the show goes on and viewers will be exposed to the contestant’s vocal abilities.

Big ups to Thokozani for the wonderful work – he is a true inspiration to young people (Kanene how old are you bhuti?) Then again if u Julius Malema or Molema (where is the grammar teacher?) is still classified as a youth – nawe my brother you are still a young person.
