Top 3 Fave TV Shows (besides The Weakest Link)
EastEnders, Super Saturday (when it was on), all sports shows (except fishing and wrestling)

The season of The Weakest Link you were in
5th season (recorded on 9 January 2007 and screened on 4 August 2007)

Your winnings
R27,800

What did you spend the moolah on?
Reduced my overdraft and treated the family to decent dinner. Also enabled us to afford to go to Cape Town in September.

What memorable insult did Fiona hurl your way?
She didn't really get to me. My tactics for the show was to keep my head down, keep out of trouble and don't be cocky and get noticed. I was actually described by one contestant as being "Boring and Pompous"!! Geez, I am far from either of those. Sour grapes I think – I got the money – he didn't!! HaHa!!

A question you were asked that you'll never forget?
We still go on about this one. It was a question about a couple of guys who set up a theatre chain in a barn. What is the name of the chain? Had a complete and utter mind-block!! I just said – "The Friendly Theatres." The answer: BARNYARD!! The clue is in the question.

Did you get it right or wrong?
WRONG!!! Of course. Fiona did lay into me for that one, but the banter wasn't aired on the show. I was quite disappointed, as my reply and subsequent discussion made her laugh. Maybe that's why they cut it out.

The most difficult thing about playing
Waiting for your question to come around after a whole string of correct answers – Bank? Don't bank? – Take the risk!! Luckily for me, I was 7th in line and had a girl next to me who either banked or got a question wrong, so didn't put me under as much pressure.

The other thing was the length of time to record the show. I was in the studio itself for five hours!! A long time to try and keep composed without being able to talk to anyone.

I went in there with the thought that whatever I am asked – always give some answer – even though I knew it was wrong, rather than say "Pass" or "I don't know". That way, people seemed to think you know something rather than be a total half-wit, because they probably didn't know the answer either.

So, knowing you don't know the answer, but trying to think up something quickly that sounded remotely intelligent.

The most fun (besides winning of course)
Being made to sing on live TV. I am definitely NOT a singer, but that was a laugh. Fiona asked what sort of music I liked. I said Pink Floyd – the same as one of the other contestants. She then turned and said – "Oh, I think we can have a duet." Ended up singing "Another Brick in the Wall" – Badly.

The other thing was in the post-competition interview. When asked what is was like to win, I just said "People said I would only embarrass myself going on The Weakest Link, so I was totally embarrassed to win the money."
