Weekly Poll: Readers Say 'No' To Continuity Presenters

The results of the 4th TVSA Poll are in and after more than 1,000 votes cast it is blindingly clear that viewers would prefer not to have continuity presenters.

In answer to the question "Are continuity presenters necessary, or are they a waste of time?", TVSA Readers voted overwhelmingly against them, with 74% deciding they are a waste of time.

Of the 1004 votes cast, 742 were against them while 267 were in favour of retaining them.

The only channels that still use continuity announcers are SABC1, SABC3 and kykNET. Maybe it's time they reconsidered their strategy.

The fifth weekly poll is now live on the site, on the right hand side of every page. this week's question is: "Which international reality show would you like a local version of?"

In other words, if you could choose one international reality show to make a South African version of, what would it be? You only have one option, so choose carefully.

There have been numerous local versions of shows including Big Brother, The Apprentice, Idols, Survivor, The Cut, Fear Factor, The Biggest Loser, Strictly Come Dancing and more.

Since those shows have already been made locally, they are not included in the poll.

Your options are as follows:

The Amazing Race
America's Got Talent
America's Next Top Model
The Bachelor
Cheaters
The Contender
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Last Comic Standing
Project Runway
Top Chef

What's it gonna be? Vote now (you can only vote once).

Grr, why'd it have to be one! In the end it came down to Race & Home Makeover and since Home Makeover is never gonna happen in a hundred million years (seriously, they're gonna get a house done in 7 days here? Try 7 months) Race it is.

Plus it'd be awesome to have a SA Phil. His name could be Philemon.

I worry about EMHE: Would love it, but when there are so many tragic housing stories here every day, how could it possibly be justified to help just one in such a major way. Prefer the Let's Fix It approach.

4 me its a close one between THE BACHELOR and CHEATERS. i love me some drama, so i'll opt for CHEATERS!!!!!
just imagine all those black brothers being busted on camera, but the host of SA CHEATERS will have to be street wise and know how 2 defend himself.
