most overrated shows

It is of my opinion that these shows are are highly overrated and entertainment journos should stop trying to convince me to watch themzola 7: i find it to believe that this guy is helping out because he cares i think he does it to increase his rercord sales and to get endorsement deals like the  zola 7 starter pack

The showbiz report: it's a good show, but i don't think it deserves to be the highest rated show on tvsa

3rd degree: if you've been watching the whole "road to polokwane" thing you'd get what i'm saying

heroes: this show was good, it's the reason that i didn't study and ended up failing, but it wasn't great it wasn't original if you've watch X-Men(the cartoon not the movie) you would find many similarities with this show.

You are spot on except for the last three shows.  Showbiz report is good especially if you are a movie going person.  3rd degree tries to give us an insight of the candidates and is very relevant considering the highly contested post.  I could never compare Heroes with X-Men.

@Mathaz they are trying to give us insight but they are not doing a good job especially yesterday when they were interupting guest because of time constraints i think they should air the "succesion" series for an hour to let guest speak their minds without interuptions(nobody watches let's fix it/ forgive & forget anyway)

I TOTALLY DISAGREE with you on The Showbuzz Reportt...its classy, well-presented and packaged nothing chessy at all.-very laid back presenter that Nicky something girl.....and 3RD Degree...has its low moments, but its actually a hard-hitting show in the format of special assignmnet...and there are memorable episodes...(of course Debrah could loosen up a bit...)

now I think..OVERATED is:.Movangoe is overrated...maybe the absence of any other Venda-themed show is the reason for hyping it...I also have a problem with finding humor in Stokvel...but I'll forgive that sitcom only for that squicky voiced tall girl...(from Society) i cant remeber her name...wheneva she's on its fun to watch..otherwise....its so blah!!!
Survivor reality shows...enough already.....

I THINK KHUMBULEKHAYA IS UNDERRATED...LOL

I agree with you on Mzolisto but TOTALLY DISAGREE on the Showbiz report....especially the locations that they do their shoots at are classy and the lighting is so spot on...the format is good as well

3rd degree is overrated. If the host stop playing to the public gallery maybe I will be interested. Any form of big brother, Zola 7, Generations, bold and the beautiful, Idols and e-tv news are all overrated.

WWE - dont even get me started. i remember watching it when it 12 years ago and thinking Shaun Michaels was the best thing ever, and now its just messes with my TV viewing, much better things could be on tv on Saturdays and sundays at 17h00.

Stokvel also doesnt do it for me.

There is obviously something wrong with Aquilogy!!! Heroes is nothing like Xmen - dont think you should compare the two. they are both brilliant in their own right.  I think Heroes is the best show ever this year on SABC!  And 40million other viewers agree with me!
Zola 7 - LET HIM GO!!!!!!
I also think SABC 1 should bring back the comedies @ 7pm.  What the hell ever happened to that.  I dont even know what's on at that time anymore.
Showbizz Report is quite entertaining!  Nicky Greenwall is funny and handles the show very well.  I enjoy it and its quite informative if you like movies and music!

I'm great Spopo I've been working on my tan lol. Yah my favourite was Traci Gold. I don't know if you remember their names but Caliente was also hot. They need to bring that show back.

What is the south african wrestling called?  They are so pathetic they make that Gladiators thing (remember that) amazing.

Seems like SABC 1 wants everyone to watch news on all the other channels thats why they have all those strange things on at 19h00 week days.

Amazing

Speaking of Gladiators. I used to love those (don't judge me I was a teenager: the folly of being young and impressionable).

Heroes was great! I never missed it and I totally agree with Spy. The show was unique in it's own way! Loved it can't wait for the next season.

Stokvel is mca!  I don't get the fuss about Showbiz report....

Well I think SABC3 has brought so much pleasure to TV viewing on Monday for mina. With The Desparate House Wives and now Las Vegas is coming back and before it was Footballers Wives. Mid week ke hayi shame ngiyaboreka. I think SABC 1 needs to bring back old dramas like Masinya, Kwakhala nyonini and so forth and it's always so interesting watch those when you have grown and laugh at the silly things we used to enjoy when we were younger. Am I the only one who thinks that Selimathunzi needs to go, it doesn't serve the purpose anymore.

Well, mina i'm a journo and a performer, a dancer to be exact. And i always look at the positive side, I always put myself in someone's shoes first, so that i try and see his/her vision before i critisise.

For the record, you'd be surprised how many people do watch Lets fix it and khumbule khaya. they are both family or society building programs, i'm actually shocked that someone views them as unimportant.

I love TV, and i think our SA TV has come a long way and we're doing a great job. I've always found TV and those shows you mentioned to be Entertaining, Informing and Educating. depending on what you look for in a  show.

Well, i dont know, maybe i'm too positive, i guess i read a lot of Yusuf Abramjee's columns, hahahaha. but i always see the good intensions of someone before i focus on the bad, selfish intentions, if there are any. The people that Zola are helping are benefitting the most, most of people achieve their goals on this show. People's lives are dramatically changed for the better in this show...how could that be anything bad? So what if his name grows in the process? I say good for him...he's working hard and he deserves it all.

If you say youself that The Showbiz report is a good show, why should it not be the highest rated show?
This is an ordinary girl who produces her own show, at her age. she does not only cover the SA's glits and glamour, she goes internationaly and bring it all back home. she's also an "economist" who does her own make up and wardrope. I take my hat off to that. (if anyone knows her, please tell her i'd lovde to work with her in the future.)

3rd degree is a cutting edge exposè show, its every journo's favourite show. so let me not say much about how great and powerful it is because my opinion would be biases.

I wont commet much on Herroes, i never watch it.

the Tastic rice adverts are overated. Pizza and coffee are overated. The crime in SA is overated. the negativity is overated. The cell C ads are going a lil over board (but that's creativity and thinking out of the box for you), the weather is overated....The festive season is overated. how many Festive seasons have you witnessed in your entire life? but the hype never seases the following year, right?

Tell you what my babe... Have you considered a new hobbie...to keep you away rom the TV coach a lil?

<<, a dancer to be exact. , I always put myself in someone's shoes first>>.. THIS IS TOO FUNNY....HA HA HA HA HA

seriously..mina I'm all for positive thinkin and giving credit where its due...BUT stll I think South Africans deserve the best and we've been short-changed for a long time when it comes to cheesy unreserached(sp) productions, that are aired repeatedly because we are "positive thinkers" who always go "agh shame bayazama  at least"in fact if we as viewers dont put pressure on them produceds to step up their game ..complaceny will step in..and you'll have the same situation you have seen in the kwaito/house standard where there are lots of copy cats and south africans dont stop buying.....haaikhona....I want my Tv viewing experience to be exciting., informitive, innovative, progressive ect..and I think South African shold actually encourage this type of thinking where if we dont like it we say so...at least in a constructive way...but nonetheless we dont have to nurse them schelbs or embrace mediocracy in the name of positive thinking and encouring them..to recyle the same ideas ..

and your suggesting to the writer to find another hobby other than watch tv, doesnt help your main point...I mean you could have said that in the first place instead of encouraging "positive thinking"  I think as a journo you've realised that the South African market  has changed to  more demanding, more creative and more aware  because of abo-dstv, internet and other infomration soruces, so we know whats what nowwadays...and we can smell cheese far away s well as unoriginality and lack of the above mentioned qualities...so I think it helps to debate what we think aint happening and what is overrated without sugarcoating ..just telling it as it is...coz trust me plenty of TV bosses read this forum...
