[sing along with me]
Altus and Paula sitting in a tree K I S S I N G!. Finally it has happened, our internet dating couple Boerbul and Mata Hari have finally fallen into each others arms, kissed passionately and rode off into the sunset….not without a few hiccups though.
Summary for last week:
Monday 28 August
Jan Hendrik, Dezi and Carlos discuss Madel’s sudden need for a holiday to Waenhuiskrans. Unbeknownst to them, poor Madel’s hot date with Nicholas Scott was cancelled and Madel seemed very upset, hence the need to suddenly get away.
Paula is going all out for her date with Boerbul as she asks Felicity to organise her ballgown and accessories. Altus on the other hand is nervous and asks Emma to help choose a sexy smelling aftershave.
Jan Hendrik and Carlos interview San-Marie van Graan and they seem very impressed with her expertise and decide to appoint her for the job rather than Alyce.
Marko tells Aggie that he has finally cracked the art of making t-shirts and the two decide to start printing to fill their order for Kyriakis de Lange.
Alyce seems positive about getting the job at T&T (off course it’s all Dezi’s fault for giving her hope) when Jan Hendrik calls to give her the bad news. The disappointment is evident on her face.
Xander prepares himself to confront Felicity about his feelings when his father walks in and gives him some sound advice about women.
Altus is waiting for Mata Hari at O’Mallys when Marko walks in, teases him about his nervousness and Altus tries to get him to leave.
Felicity and Aggie are helping Paula get ready for her big date and she looks an absolute vision in her ballgown.
When Paula walks into O’Malleys she sees Altus and immediately tries to leave but bumps into a guy spilling drinks all over. Without her knowing, Altus has turned around, seen her and turned his back on her. Paula leaves taking one last look at Altus’ turned back.
Tuesday 29 August
Paula can’t begin to express her frustration and disappointment to Aggie about Altus being Boerbul. She swears her to secrecy.
Altus tells Marko that Mata Hari turned out to be Paula. Marko tells him its fate that the two of them should be together but Altus can’t forgive Paula for cheating on him.
Both are too blind to see what’s right in front of them.
Aggie tells Mandla that Hilda is receiving most of the votes coming in lately and Neville warns him to be discreet and impartial to the proceedings. Mandla tries to avoid Matrone.
Xander finally lets it slip to Marko that Felicity is the girl of his dreams and Marko encourages him to tell her of his feelings.
Felicity waits for Vince at the Deli when Tertia walks in. She’s looking for Vince and leaves a note for him to meet her at the club planting a big, fat lipstick kiss on the note. Felicity reads it.
Neville tells Paula to prepare herself for a meeting with Dezi and Altus to discuss the Dazzling Dame function. She’s totally taken aback.
Dezi apologises to Alyce for getting her hopes up but Alyce tries to be upbeat and positive. Meanwhile she’s worried about her finances running low.
At the meeting at the Hillside offices, Altus and Paula are sarcastic with their remarks and suggestions for the function. Paula shoots all his ideas down and Dezi and Neville can’t understand what’s going on. Paula storms out of the meeting leaving Aggie to explain.
The Oppiekoffie staff are preparing themselves for Casual Day and persuades Charmaine to allow them to wear casual clothing.
Aggie tells Maria that Hilda is streaming ahead with the votes.
Vanessa convinces Felicity to go to the club and see for herself if Vince is indeed cheating on her.
Wilmien finally contacts George only to tell him that she’s selling her shares in Kyriakis de Lange.
Felicity is at the club and sees Vince with Tertia. When he sees Felicity at the bar, he smoothly tells her that Tertia is the one chasing him and he’s only there to gently break it to her that he has a girlfriend. It seems Felicity has fallen yet again for Vince’s stories.
Wednesday 30 August
Altus delivers a parcel at the Hillside Offices. The tension between him and Paula not to mention the chemistry is so electrifying but they are both too stubborn to admit their true feelings.
Altus seems disorientated and tells Inge he’s the biggest fool in the world.
Pressed for time, Marko invites Danny and Tessa to learn the art of silkscreening and eventually promises them a cut for their help.
Maria tells Hilda that her box is overflowing with votes and she’s beating Matrone. Hilda is overjoyed.
Xander overhears Vince telling Kabelo about his close call with Felicity at the club. Xander can’t handle his brother’s treachery.
George tells Dezi that he’s decided to buy Wilmien’s shares and seems quite happy that he’ll finally be his own boss.
Paula is in tears and tells Karien that she’s totally, madly insanely still inlove with Altus but there’s no chance for them. Karien fails to see the problem.
Altus walks into the Boekwinkel looking like a little lost Boerbulletjie.
Xander phones Felicity and invites her out for a pizza.
There’s a cryptic message on Paula’s computer leading her to the Boekwinkel where a poetry book by Petra Muller awaits. It’s obvious that the gang of Hillside have decided to pitch in to get Altus and Paula together.
A note in the book leads Paula to the Deli where a picnic basket filled with goodies is waiting for her. The note in the basket leads Paula to the boutique and she finds a beautiful evening dress with a note saying to wear the dress “girl of my dreams”.
Xander and Felicity are having a good time chatting when Felicity suddenly realises something is just not right. As Xander prepares to tell her of his feelings, she tries to steer him away and there’s a moment between them as he takes her hand. Felicity, confused by what’s happening tells Xander she’s sorry and makes a quick getaway.
Paula is all dollied up, waiting…
She receives an e-mail from Boerbul telling her that her ex-boyfriend was a fool for not forgiving her. She asks him where he is and his reply suggests he’s five seconds away.
Paula rushes out of the flat and sees Altus sitting in the hallway with his laptop and a bunch of roses. They both forgive each other and kiss passionately, finally giving us the ending we’ve been waiting for for so long.
I know they were dragging out this whole internet dating thing between Altus and Paula which was getting abit tiresome but you have to admit, their final reunion was definitely chick flick material.
Thursday 31 August
An early telephone call from Moekie brings distressing news about Neef Gert escaping from Prison Rondomskrik. Yep it seems Gert convinced Moekie to make a tipsy tart knowing her heavy hand and made his escape in the dead of night as everyone slept.
The gang are all happy to see Altus and Paula back together and the two seem more inlove than ever before.
Felicity tells Vanessa about the “moment” between her and Xander and she blames herself for sending him the wrong signals.
Altus invites Paula to a lodge in Limpopo but Neville refuses to let her go because of the Dazzling Dame articles that needs to be written.
When Xander and Felicity come face to face, he apologises for making her feel uncomfortable and she tells him she cares too much about Vince and wants to put the episode behind her.
Mandla sees an opportunity when he hears about Paula and Altus’ trip to Limpopo. He convinces Neville he has everything under control for the Dazzling Dame articles and Paula has to go to the lodge to beat the competition.
Paula is overjoyed with the news that she’s able to go away with Altus not knowing Mandla’s ulterior motives.
Aggie and Marko finally finish the t-shirt order.
Hilda prepares herself for success and tells Matrone to be available for her little reception she’ll be having. Matrone is immediately suspicious.
Everyone is at the club waiting for Liasion but it’s a no-show as the club failed to pay the deposit. Alyce suggests to George that he get the party started and give t-shirts away for the best dance moves. This tactic works as George tells the crowd that drinks are on the house.
It seems that Alyce is always coming up with better ideas for Kyriakis de Lange. Isn’t there perhaps a job for her, now that George will be the sole owner?
Friday 1 September
Felicity is uncomfortable around Vince and makes up excuses not to join him for breakfast.
Don’t you think she’s being rather dramatic about this whole thing, it’s not as if anything happened between her and Xander.
Vince can’t understand what’s up with Felicity and decides she needs major pampering (as if they don’t do that enough already).
Wilmien has arranged for the auditors to go through Kyriakis de Lange’s books and they phone George to make arrangements.
Hilda and Oom Oubaas are discussing the meeting with the President when Neef Gert walks in, all tired and worn-out. Oom Oubaas suggest he take a shower and freshen up, much to Hilda’s annoyance.
Matrone can’t understand why Hilda is leading with the votes and she bullies Mandla into meeting her at the Hillside Times offices to check Hilda’s box.
Marko and Aggie are pleased with the success of their t-shirts but their joy is short-lived when Danny drops off the invoices for her and Tessa’s hard labour.
Vince promises Felicity moonshine and roses as he produces tickets for a play she’s being dying to see.
Gert has not changed one bit as he continues to manipulate Oom Oubaas.
Mandla and Matrone are checking Hilda’s box when Matrone notices postcards looking very suspicious. She grabs a handful, goes to her place and finally realises that the postcards are all of the same type and posted on the same day at the same post office.
Matrone suspects foul play and is pleased that she’s finally caught Hilda out.
Madel is back from her holiday and seem energetic and in high spirits.
A distinguished gentleman walks into the Boekwinkel looking for Ryno. He introduces himself to Emma as we finally get to meet Nicholas Scott.
Tune in next week to see if Madel and Nicholas will meet, what Matrone will do with the damaging information she has against Hilda and finally, who will win the Dazzling Dame Competition?
