Season 8

Afro Café returns with the best of African beats from Tuesday, 18th January at 22h00, replacing Jam Sandwich. The show retains Stoan Seate popularly known as the front man of the successful group Bongo Maffin.

Afro Cafe blends the best music Africa has to offer with a talk show, artist interviews and up and coming musicians. Now in its eighth season, the show delves deeper into the nooks and crannies of the South African music landscape with the gems of the local music front as our guides, also showcasing South African music legends.

In the new season premiere the show revisits the greatest moments of the programme as remembered by both former and current Afro Cafe presenters; Pepsi Pokane and Stoan Seate, respectively.

They look back and reminisce over their favourite acts and interviews featured from inception of the show through to the current season.

Songstresses Lira and Thandiswa Mazwai always set the Afro Café stage on fire with their performances, and Stoan shares some of them with viewers.

Performances from the legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Hugh Masekela are also on the menu. Whilst down memory lane, Stoan throws in a surprise for the viewers.
