Your Perfect Sishebo Show is a South African reality competition cooking series produced by Stepping Stone Pictures in which mother-daughter teams are thrust into a competition environment, challenging their cooking skills as they attempt to create the Perfect Sishebo using authentic African cooking methods and recipes.
The series takes viewers on a journey to different communities across South Africa to capture the Perfect Sishebo cooking by mothers and their daughters who take their roles as 'resilient providers' seriously.
It is a reality show aimed at discovering, creating and capturing what it takes to create the Perfect Sishebo dish. Mother-daughter teams provide the landscape for a dynamic cooking experience in a competitive cooking environment.
The show is about telling real stories about real people with authentic African cooking methods and recipes using four spice products: spice cubes, spices for taste, packet soup and curry powder, all passed down from mother to daughter.
The show thrusts these teams into a competition environment, challenge their cooking skills as they create the Perfect Sishebo.
The 10-part series features South Africa's great community cooks who stand a chance to win a R250,000 grand prize.
Your Perfect Sishebo Show is produced by Stepping Stone Pictures with executive producers Rapulana Seiphemo and Kenneth Nkosi. The director was Simon Makwela, who also co-wrote the script with Nkuli Sibeko-Botman.
