Season 8

This ensemble-cast, legal drama from David E. Kelley had eight award-winning seasons. With passionate, sometimes ethically challenged partners, who are brilliant at finding the loopholes or work arounds necessary to get their clients off - they shocked and shook viewers every week.

They didn't always win, but they exhausted every possibility in their efforts to do so. The clients they defended were often guilty or accused of some of the most shocking, unbelievable and outrageous acts portrayed on TV.

Bobby Donnell was the main partner in the firm and was assisted by Ellenor Frutt, Lindsay Dole, Rebecca Washington, Jimmy Berluti and Eugene Young.

Opposing them was Assistant District Attorney Helen Gamble. In later seasons Bobby quits the firm and leaves Eugene in charge. Also leaving the series at this time was Kelli Williams, Lara Flynn Boyle, Lisa Gay Hamilton and Marla Sokoloff, the new attorney Jamie Stringer was introduced at this point. In the final season Alan Shore joined Euguene and co, his methods were perhaps the most reprehensible demonstrated by any of the previous lawyers in the series, but he was so charming viewers lapped up every minute he was on screen.

Bobby and Helen's past relationship clouded the boundaries in earlier episodes, and also caused conflict for Lindsay who had strong feelings for Bobby. Bobby and Lindsay's attraction eventually overcame their professionalism when they began seeing each other and planned to marry.

The series had intersecting stories with recurring clients throughout, which meant you couldn't afford to miss any episode and loose out on the action. The show was also popular for the high caliber of guest stars it attracted.

Season 8

After Bobby Donnell's departure last season, we see Eugene Young tackling his new role as head of the firm and the new dynamic with co-workers Ellenor Frutt (Camryn Manheim), Jimmy Berluti (Michael Badalucco) and Jamie Stringer (Jessica Capshaw), a young associate recently out of law school.
