Season 6

MTV Shuga (now known as MTV Shuga Naija) makes a sixth season comeback, after a season spent in South Africa with MTV Shuga: Down South.

Season 6 takes place in Nigeria and four familiar faces return to the storyline: Tobi (Timini Egbuson), Leila (Jemima Osunde), Princess (Sharon Ezeamaka) and Weki (Olumide Oworu).

There are a host of new characters played by Nigerian actors, including household names like Rahama Sadau and fresh talents such as Sharon Jatto.

This year's storyline is packed with more action than ever. From young mothers who have to make tough decisions to look out for their children, to daring characters who will do anything to see their dreams come true.

But what happens when the choices they make land them up in even more trouble than they could have imagined?

Along with the changes to the cast and the storyline, the series moves even further south than ever before. While continuing the adventures in Lagos, the show also explores the north of Nigeria for the first time ever as the story unravels in ways you could have never imagined.

Season 6 is a SMAT Media production for MTV Staying Alive Foundation. The executive producers of Season 6 are Sara Piot, Richard Warburton and Georgia Arnold. Emmanuel Uduma is the executive producer for SMAT Media. Chris Ihidero is a producer and directors this season include Tolulope Ajayi, Tope Oshin and Ishaya Bako.

The head writer for Season 6 is Tunde Aladese, leading a writing team that includes Nkiru Njoku, Bode Asiyanbi, Timendu Aghahova, Kunle-toba Dada, Tomolola Adeyemo and Chiemeka Osuagwu.
